Mere Child – Joy Of Joy

Mere Child

Mere Child

We always love discovering great artists from our home town, and Mere Child (aka Aimee Herbert-Smith) is exactly that.

Fuelling our emotional engines, her second solo release, ‘Joy Of Joy’ is a melancholic disco track born as a result of a three year break by Aimee that was filled with “marriage, birth and tragic loss”.

M83 – You And The Night

French indietronica legend M83, aka Anthony Gonzalezhas been taking a break from the traditional output of produced albums and singles, instead choosing to soundtrack various films. An advocate of emotive visuals to complement music, M83 has just revealed a new track entitled ‘Ali & Matthias’ off the upcoming soundtrack for Film You and the Night.

M83 states that “The soundtrack pays tribute to French soundtracks from the 70′s and is much more intimate than ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’ and the ‘Oblivion’ Soundtrack. This score is really for lovers and ghosts.”

You and the Night, is Gonzalez’s brother Yann’s debut feature-length film, about a young couple who, along with their transvestite maid, prepare for an orgy. It will be digitally available on November 19th, and you can watch the trailer here M83 created the soundtrack alongside Morgan Kibby of White Sea.

M83 also created the soundtrack to the sci-fi thriller Oblivion which you can listen to here.

As we wait longingly for the next full studio release by M83 since highly acclaimed ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’ in 2011 (recently made platinum via MUTE Records)his soundtrack work will certainly suffice.
