Altamina was originally a side project from US-based, Francois Graham and French-Canadian, Marco Gervais of Montreal’s Surface of Atlantic, but it soon developed into a fully-fledged, international band, following the enlistment of Australian, Matt Davis on drums and French-Canadian, Roxanne Miller on bass in 2014.
Sincere lyrics touched with baritone vocals, steady drum beats, and ambient riffs make ‘Under The Black Sea’ a stand out track from an equally as impressive band.
Their album, ‘Tomorrow Morning Will Be Tonight’ is out now.
Sounds like: The National, War On Drugs, Nick Cave, Joy Division, Phoria
Sekuoia teams up with fellow Dane, Kill J for ‘Lamp In The Dark’; a deep-beating electronic track in which Kill J’s falsetto vocals glide in perfectly.
As Sekuoia puts it himself, “the process was one of the most creative things I’ve done. KIll J had some really good input regarding the production, and I had a bit of input towards some vocal aspects. For me, she was the ideal collab”.
It’s out now via Nowadays Records.

The bosses are back in town; romantic indie rock duo, Ten Fé.
Their latest release, ‘Elodie’ is a beautiful and modern love song. As the name suggests, ‘Elodie’ is lyrical and melodious.
Ben and Leo’s vocals play off one another’s throughout the track. As on ‘In The Air’, Ben is on lead vocal once more, narrating in a rich Springsteen baritone a conversation between two lovers.
Written the night before the band left London for Berlin to record with producer Ewan Pearson (Jagwar Ma, M83, The Rapture), it is the first track to be recorded featuring the complete Ten Fé live line-up – with Rob Shipley on bass and Luca Romano on drums.
‘Elodie’ will be released by Bad Life.

Los Angeles psych-pop duo, SWIMM, release their aptly named, ‘Beverly Hells’ EP; an eclectic array of diverse, meticulously arranged ethereal rock with huge sweeping guitars, infectious rhythms and arena-ready hooks.
When asked about what the Beverly Hells EP means to them, Chris Hess (one half of SWIMM, the other member being Adam Winn) had this to say:
“So far our time in LA has been the most wonderfully chaotic time in our lives both personally and creatively. This EP will serve as the first time capsule of our move here. It makes it really exciting to put it out and see what life it takes on on its own.”
The ‘Beverly Hells’ EP is now on 24West Records.
Tour dates below:
Sounds like: War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Young Empires, Yellerkin, Bright Light Social Hour, Dr. Dog, The Pixies, Summer Heart
The Danish producer, Sekuoia, is back with new track ‘Somewhere’.
Opening with sparse but instantly arresting beats, ‘Somewhere’ slowly eases its way into your psyche; cut and paste vocals interspersed with dream-like guitar lines play against each other. Fusing together neat dancefloor sensibilities with a very human touch, Sekouia injects his music with a hyper romantic quality rarely seen in electronic music.
It is taken from his forthcoming EP, ‘Reset Heart’.
Sounds like: Active Child, Washed Out, MØ, Tomas Barfod, War on Drugs, Maps, WhoMadeWho
To say there is a buzz surrounding this young producer is an understatement. Madsen effortlessly bridges ambient, hip hop and electronica, To date he has released two EP’s (the most recent being on Berlin’s Mooncircle), and now brings us dreamy and washed out new track ‘Waves’, which he describes below:
“Initially I wrote this track in the summer of 2013. I was spending time writing new material in order to play a long set at Roskilde Festival. One night I was playing random stuff on this Spanish guitar, and singing through a mic with loads of reverb on, and while just singing random words, the melody and lyrics just occurred. Since then I’ve been adding new elements along the way. It’s the first track I’ve made with proper lyrics, and in a way it has been the hardest track for me to produce.”
He is playing at The Waiting Room in London on 2 December 2014. More info on his facebook page.
