Pierce Fulton – Autumn Blossom

Pierce Fulton

Multi-instrumentalist, Pierce Fulton drops new single, ‘Autumn Blossom’, featuring vocals from the lovely Noosa, who we have been a fan of for a long time.

The track has an uplifting undertone throughout, with cinematic guitar riffs and pulsating synths.

‘Call Me Out’ is the lead track from their debut EP, out now on Sea Girls’ own label Almanac Recordings.

Be sure to catch them at their London headline EP Launch gig on 8 June at The Islington in London.

FOURS – Stella

FOURS

Headed up by front woman Edith Violet, best friends, FOURS, have a lot to say on a few topics.

Possibly entitled after the well known alcoholic drink has a reputation for making men lose control, their new track ‘Stella’ is about “calling out all the sleazy men that go out on their own, wait for you and your girls to get drunk, then spend the night non consensually dry humping your leg and ignoring your repeated rejections. Fuck you, and get off my arm.”

Sounds like: Fickle Friends, Florence + The Machine, Foxes, Shura, Wolf Alice, The Hunna, Two Door Cinema Club

Bad Wave – 1955

Bad Wave

A juxtaposing theme in Bad Wave‘s new single, ‘1955’; a “nostalgia for the future” if you will.

Much like the melodies within the song, ‘1955’ is split between the progression of the past and hope for the future with it’s echoey harmonies and rocky guitar riffs.

‘1955’ is out now via 10K Islands.

Sounds like: Phoenix, Death Cab for Cutie, GUSH, Hot Chip, The Foals, Two Door Cinema Club, Ghost Beach

Kid Astray – Fall To My Knees

Kid Astray

We are super excited that Kid Astray are back, and their defiant new track does not disappoint.

An collective of musical instruments and instantly memorable vocal hooks, ‘Fall To My Knees’ is about why Kid Astray are sharing their music;

“Fall to My Knees” is about a gig we played in Berlin in the spring of 2015. We were having a really tough time, battling some undue negativity in the media and in the people around us. We just wanted to quit, go to sleep, and not play this showcase at a club. But that show just blew up and made us remember why in the world we’re so determined to keep on doing this. It’s pretty big for a couple of 20 year olds to able to play a sold-out show in the hipster capitol of Europe. And this song is a reminder of that.”

It’s out now via Sony Music.

courtship. – Sail Away

courtship. by Regina Doland

Another great release on the 20XX label. Los Angeles duo, courtship. share their third single, ‘Sail Away’.

Despite what the title suggests, this is perhaps their most introspective track to date, with glistening moments that conjure up bittersweet images of watching your love sail away from you on the Pacific ocean.

joan – take me on

joan

joan

Guys can look good in mom jeans too.

Time for some sumptuous indie from a boy duo called joan (aka Thomas and Steven Rutherford).

Their debut track, ‘take me on’, is a strong contender in the current musical field of pop. Potential BFFs to Shura, ‘take me on’ echoes of retro synths, sending us back to a time where anything was possible.

Co-produced and mixed by Tim Pagnotta (Walk the Moon, St. Lucia, Wild Belle, Saint Motel), ‘take me on’ is “about spending tonight and forever with the one you love.”

N-A-I-V-E-S – Crystal Clear

N-A-I-V-E-S

N-A-I-V-E-S

Meet N-A-I-V-E-S, a London-based pop duo with an extravagant edge, as colourfully showcased in their flamboyant video for ‘Crystal Clear’.

A memorable, driving beat leads ‘Crystal Clear’, but it’s not without bassy twangs for fans of Tame Impala and spirited harmonies, reminiscent of some of our favourite Friendly Fires‘ tracks.

We’re excited to listen to their debut, self-titled album, which is out on 27 January.

Sounds like: Fenech Soler, Two Door Cinema Club, Friendly Fires, Metronomy,

Amber Run

Amber Run

Nottingham based Amber Run are a four piece who like to whip up indie anthems.

As many bands will know, keeping this type of spontaneity can be tough, especially if you let the music industry exhaust you.

Playlist: courtship.

courtship.

courtship.

Ones to watch, courtship. (aka Eli Hirsch and Micah Gordon) have put together a bubbly playlist for us, as well as sharing their new track, ‘Love For Everyone’.

Speaking of the playlist, the Los Angeles-based duo have said,

“This is a collection of songs we’ve been listening to recently. You’ll notice a lot of mom music (aka. Jack Johnson, Sheryl Crow). Extremely underrated. We have already booked David Gray to play at both our weddings.”

‘Love For Everyone’ is the ultimate weekend anthem with on point finger snaps and disco-tinged synths. Listen below.
