RJ Thompson – Echo Chamber

RJ Thompson

An early Phil Collins sprung to mind as soon as we heard ‘Echo Chamber’ by RJ Thompson.

It is the first release from his upcoming album of the same name and is refined retro pop, that isn’t boastful or brash.

The video is the brainchild of RJ and director Ian West (James Bay, The Lake Poets, The Futureheads). On the video, Ian says,

“We wanted to create something nostalgic but also something that reflected the nature of the song. That feeling music gives you… the way it taps into your memory and reminds you what it’s like to be free and happy without the rules and restrictions of society was really important to highlight. I guess that’s the main theme behind it, for those few minutes you have a freedom, and that creativity and music can’t be oppressed.”

N-A-I-V-E-S – Crystal Clear

N-A-I-V-E-S

N-A-I-V-E-S

Meet N-A-I-V-E-S, a London-based pop duo with an extravagant edge, as colourfully showcased in their flamboyant video for ‘Crystal Clear’.

A memorable, driving beat leads ‘Crystal Clear’, but it’s not without bassy twangs for fans of Tame Impala and spirited harmonies, reminiscent of some of our favourite Friendly Fires‘ tracks.

We’re excited to listen to their debut, self-titled album, which is out on 27 January.

Sounds like: Fenech Soler, Two Door Cinema Club, Friendly Fires, Metronomy,
