Playlist: Tube & Berger

Tube & Berger by Claudio Oliverio

Tube & Berger by Claudio Oliverio

German duo, Tube & Berger (aka Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic) have been producing music for a while now, but it’s only recently that they’ve really sparked our interest. Working hard on evolving their sound from pure club grooves to a more ‘live’ focused indietronica styling, they have quite literally blown us away with their new track, ‘We Are All Stars’.

To help you get used to the transition, the guys have put together a playlist. It fuses indie/electronica/dance into one delicious pot.

GusGus – Crossfade (Maceo Plex Remix)
This has been a huge track in our DJ sets for over 2 years now, we wish we had made it!

Moderat – Running
Big respect to our fellow Germans, Moderat are the best live electronic band in the world right now.

Royksopp – What Else Is There? – Trentemoller Remix
Mid Noughties Electro House classic. Sounding just as epically dark and dangerous today.

Mylo – Destroy Rock n Roll
A track to dance and laugh to at the same time.

RÜFÜS - Innerbloom
Kings of the Electronica new breed smashing it with a chilled masterpiece.

Foals – Late Night – Solomun Remix
Foals are an amazing Indie Rock band and with Solomon on the remix, it was always going to be good…and it is!

The Chemical Brothers – Do it Again
Probably our favourite ever band. We could have chosen loads of their tracks.

SOHN – Conrad
Downtempo brilliance. Spiritual and soulful.

The XX – Crystalised
The perfect mix of chiming guitars, indie vocals and electronic beats sensibilities.

Justice VS Simian – We Are Your Friends
Not sure any rock band has made a better rabble rousing festival anthem in recent times.

Live Dates

Fri 03 Mar – Zero Gravity, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Fri 07 Apr – Hehku, Tampere, Finland
Sat 22 Jul – Open Beatz Festival, Herzogenaurach, Germany

Expect Tube & Berger’s album to drop shortly, via Embassy One. If you can’t wait, take a listen to ‘We Are All Stars’ below.

Step Rockets

Step Rockets

Step Rockets are a band from Minneapolis, who like to blend pop melodies with rock-inducing riffs.

They put together an incredible playlist for us. Check it out below.

Miike Snow – For U (Feat. Charli XCX)

Always a big fan of this group. Loving the non-traditional song structure here.

M83 – Go! (Feat. Mai Lan)

This song is a smash! The guitar solo is killing!

Tuxedo – Do It

Could listen to that funky synth bass all night long.

Yeasayer – I Am Chemistry

Their production is always spot on! Pushing the pop envelope by keeping it weird.

What So Not – High You Are (Branchez Remix)

Spicy future bass remix that keeps ya smilin’.

Autograf – Heartbeat

Summertime vibes.

Step Rockets – Love Is Just A Chemical

One of our favorite cuts to play live!

Tora – Latp

Super forward thinking electro-pop.

Chairlift – Ch-Ching

Just one of the many dope dance cuts off their new album. Go check the whole thing out.

Robert DeLong – Jealousy

Can’t argue with the stellar arrangement and production on this track.

Big Grams, Skrillex – Drum Machine

puts his magic touch on this crazy collab. Had to include one trap banger.

The Chemical Brothers – Wide Open

Digging Beck’s vibey vox and understated production from the Chem Bros.

Neon Indian – Polish Girl

More acid please!

Cut Copy – Lights & Music

These Aussies know how to keep the dance floor interesting.

J Dilla – Shake It Down

Wouldn’t be a Step Rockets playlist without at least one big flow cut.

The Step Rockets’ EP, ‘Future Nature’, is out now via Harbour / Caroline Records.

Sounds like: Atlas Genius, Mainland, Cold War Kids

Apparently we’re from London and Paris. we’re not really though.. we’re from Bournemouth and Paris.. these lads are from Bournemouth too and they’re having it.

DJ Koze – XTC

Listened to this track because we thought it was about the band XTC.. turns out its about hard drugs and Meditation.

The Chemical Brothers – Block Rockin Beats

Been listening to this loads recently.. thinking of sampling the drums, but turns out its already samples though, so we’ll probably just sample the original.

I Break Horses – Faith

I BREAK HORSES

I BREAK HORSES

With their much-anticipated second album due in early 2014, Maria Lindén and Fredrik Balck (aka I BREAK HORSES) have just unveiled an incredible video for new single ‘Faith’.

With its hypnotic beats and swirling synths, ‘Faith’ brilliantly signals the more electronically charged, dance-oriented direction of the band’s new material.

Directed by Magnus Härdner, the mesmerizing black and white accompanying video was shot in Stockholm.

Black and white is definitely cool.

The goosebump-inducing ‘Faith’ is in direct competition with our favourite track ‘Winter Beats’, taken from the band’s first album, ‘Hearts’ (which you can purchase on iTunes here). There is no denying that with their new work, they continue to break horses, and hearts.

I BREAK HORSES are supporting Sigur Rós on their European tour in November 2013 starting in Dublin on November 16 and finishing in Oslo on 28 November.
