Smallpools – Run With The Bulls

Smallpools by Dan Monick

Smallpools by Dan Monick

After a brief hiatus, US band Smallpools return with their first independent release; a frenetic video for ‘Run With The Bulls’.

Working with the track’s producer, Frederik Thaae (Atlas Genius, Saint Motel), for the bulk of their summer, it’s safe to say that Smallpools have definitely ramped things up a bit. Possibly a “so long!” to RCA Records, possibly not. Either way, it’s decent stuff!

Sounds like: The Bravery, Panic! At The Disco, Passion Pit, Phoenix, Matt & Kim

VHS Collection – The Black

VHS Collection

VHS Collection

NYC synth-rockers, VHS Collection, return with ‘The Black’.

Channelling some Chris Isaak vibes (possibly as a result of only using analogue gear during the track’s recording), the light electronic floor filler is paradoxically about the darkest and ugliest emotions you suffer during a breakup.

It’s taken off their ‘Stereo Hype’ EP.

Sounds like: The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Savoir Adore, Bloc Party, Brandon Flowers, Future Islands, The Bravery, MOTHXR, Empire Of The Sun

NYC-based, electronic synth-rock band, VHS Collection, share new track called ‘The Longest Drive’.

It’s a favourite of theirs to play at live shows, and it’s not surprising as this one apparently makes the crowd go nuts!

The band say ‘The Longest Drive’ is “about never wanting to grow up and about how people like to fake different levels of maturity.”

Listen below and book one of their shows asap.

Premiere: The Fauve – Falling Hard

The Fauve

The Fauve

The Fauve is the expressive new project from Hayley Taylor.

Originally an acoustic indie/rock singer, Taylor has taken the leap into electronica. But she hasn’t done it lightly. No, Hayley has started by collaborating with musicians like The Bravery‘s Anthony Burulcich, John Morrical (Santigold, Charli XCXMr. Little Jeans), and Dan Romer (Ingrid Michaelson) to create a audacious electronic sound full of shimmering electronics and fiery drumbeats.

Be the first to listen to ‘Falling Hard’.

Expect the full album out by the end of 2016.

Sounds like: Paperwhite, Prinze George, Evvy, Pawws, Haerts
