BBC 6 favourite, breezy indie band High Hazels share their new single ‘Days Of No One’.

Fighting an ever-losing battle of love and being lonely, lead singer James admits that despite the conflicting themes in their music, he is a fan of people; “Weirdly that’s why I think loneliness pops up in our music quite a lot, I suppose it’s more the fear of it.”

If indulgence is what London-based Anteros have for breakfast, then ‘The Beat’ is the champagne-fuelled brunch that follows shortly after.

Anteros are offering us yet another fabulous video. Again, the focus is on front woman, Laura Hayden, but this time the scenes flip between heavenly shots of Laura lying on a bed, and disco-fevered ones of Laura dancing in a red and purple lit dancehall.

‘The Beat’ is taken from their forthcoming second EP ‘Breakfast’, due out on 19 September via Kissability.

With that in mind, the boys have put together a wicked playlist for Indietronica. Listen below.

Panic! At The Disco – I Write Sins Not Tragedies

One of their earliest songs and one of their best, although they do keep consistently writing phenomenal music.

Twenty One Pilots – Heavy dirty soul

We love this band for their unique way to blend so many genres of music together including two of our favourites, Rock and Rap.

Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark

We’ve grown up being a huge fan of this band right back from their early punk beginnings. One of our favourite things about this band is their ever evolving sound. We could have chosen any number of songs by FOB but this one best represents their modern pop rock anthems they have had a habit of writing over the past two albums.

One Republic – Counting Stars

Lead single from an album we found while traveling, this song is a pop rock masterpiece and the soundtrack to an amazing time in our lives.

Ed Sheeran – I See Fire

He’s one of the greatest musical talents of the last few years. We’ve been listening to him way before he made it massive and he’s still writing brilliant songs. We love how I See Fire sounds so HUGE with so little actually on it.

Ward Thomas – Carry You Home

Reminds us of American country rock and being in Nashville. Big Chorus!

Taylor Swift – I Know Places

Every one of Taylor’s songs are so musically different, probably down to the different producers and writers she collaborates with. We chose this because of the fantastic melodies she uses in the vocals.

One Republic – Wherever I Go

Pretty much every song Ryan Tedder writes is a lesson on how to write a hit track.

Twenty One Pilots – Stressed out

They’re putting out music that is different and mix different styles in their tracks really well.

Their album is out now via ALYA RECORDS.

Anteros, a four-piece from London, share the seemingly self-indulgent video for ‘Breakfast’.

Speaking about the video, lead singer Laura Hayden said:

“Our aim was so depict situations women get themselves into on the road to finding love & happiness. There’s still pressure for us to be perfect in every aspect, like we’re constantly having to to modify ourselves in order to find our “happily every after”. Our relationships, careers, body, lifestyle, etc. We spend our whole lives focusing on what we don’t have & need to change – instead of enjoying the present. Each character in the video has been inspired by loads of different females: from Charlotte in Lost in Translation (played by Scarlett Johansson) and Beyoncé in Why Don’t You Love Me, to a Barbie Doll.”

‘Breakfast’ is Anteros’s first release on Kissability (Circa Waves, DZ Deathrays), out now.

Hunny – Vowels (and The Importance of Being Me)

HUNNY is a South Californian band, who like to create sweet blends of 80’s pop punk. They cite their influences from the likes of Prince and The Cure.

Their debut EP ‘Pain/Ache/Loving’ was produced with Eric Palmquist (Bad Suns, Trash Talk). The result is a lovelorn themed EP that paints a colourful picture of heartbreak and frustration through angst driven anthems.
