Máni Orrason by Yannic Pöpperling

We are huge fans of quirky Icelandic electro-pop provacateur Máni Orrason‘s new single ‘Numb’. In fact, we are slightly obsessed with all of the visuals for his last few releases, portraying a broken yet endearing persona of desperation and a need for love.

The visuals for ‘Numb’ flashback to straying and emotional neglect, “I had this desperate need to be seen and to be comforted. I guess i was really lonely at the time”, Máni recalls.

Synthpop sisters REYNA may want you to forget it, but baby please don’t!

Comprised of Victoria and Hannah Gabriela, the girls have already worked with the likes of Drew Pearson (Kesha) and performed with CHVRCHES.

Speaking of their new single ‘Baby Forget It’, Vic says,

“The song is about a former love who kept something of mine after a dramatic breakup. I wasn’t the best version of myself in this relationship and I can admit that I really messed up. That’s why I was so surprised when I saw that she would wear my jacket, I was like hmm maybe it wasn’t so bad, maybe every time she puts the jacket on she thinks about the good times instead of the bad. This song is for everyone who has had their heart broken then somehow muster the courage to put their hearts out there again. TeamMate – Nothing’s Ever Over

TeamMate

TeamMate

This is no ordinary love story.

The new single ‘Nothing’s Ever Over’ by Los Angeles duo TeamMate celebrates the duo’s lifetime of being together and weathering the end of their romantic relationship to forge ahead into their musical relationship.

Scott Simons (keys, synths, vocals) and Dani Buncher (vocals, drums), were romantically involved for close to a decade. Buncher’s coming out ended the years of calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend, and unlike most couples who repel or drift apart after a break up, the duo’s love and chemistry went down a new path and was channeled into their unspeakable musical connection. Having this creative outlet with each other carried the two through the rough patches and acted as their therapy. The duo have mastered the art of writing smashingly catchy and mature pop gems with immense lyrical depth, writing from personal experiences.

‘Nothing’s Ever Over’ is a celebration of the duo’s biggest accomplishment, retaining a close friendship through a break up and starting TeamMate.

It’s out now on Rostrum Records.

Sounds like: Great Good Fine Ok, Mew, Dive In, Bleachers, Tegan & Sara, Metric, Futurecop!, Pistol Shrimp, Monogem, Satellite Stories, Young Empires

Avec Sans – Resonate

New track from sparkling synth duo Avec Sans (aka Alice Fox and Jack St. James) is up!
