Brooklyn’s own post punk band, Mainland, have released new single, ‘Outcast’.
We had a chat with them about all things music!
How and why did you start making music?
We as a band started making music because we love bringing people together, and having an avenue to channel our everyday life experiences.
Describe your sound in three words.
Nostalgic. Dark. Naked.
Where do you cite your musical influences from?
For our new record we drew influences from the likes of Depeche mode, the Cure, and The Cars, etc.
We love new music at Indietronica. What new music are you listening to?
Here’s a few albums we keep in rotation while on tour:
Black Messiah by D’angelo.
Just Enough Hip to be Woman by Broncho.
Alone with a friend by Talk in Tongues.
We are excited to hear debut records from our friends, Dreamers and Highly Suspect.
What are your plans for the future?
We’re currently working on a music video for our new single ‘Outcast’. In addition we’re developing new ways to interact with audiences in major cities by implementing curious and artful propaganda. Stay tuned…
We can’t wait!
The new album will be out early 2016 on 300 Entertainment. For now you can purchase ‘Outcast’ on iTunes.
Sounds like: Alkaline Trio, The Colourist, Atlas Genius, X Ambassadors, Strange Talk, Catfish & the Bottlemen, The Cure, New Order, Brandon Flowers
