Younger Hunger

Younger Hunger is making waves with new single ‘Second Best’.

Inspired by 90’s indie-rock guitars, chart-topping pop hooks, and emo lyricism, their sound is quite difficult to pin down, especially when they refuse to make the same song twice.

Musically sitting somewhere between APRE and Sea Girls, the Orange Country-based upstarts present us with a perfect contradiction.

Jazz and neo-soul musician Birthh (real name Alice Bisi) was raised in Florence on a diet of Tom Waits and Bob Dylan.

The new video for her single ‘Yello / Concrete’ was filmed between the Tuscan countryside and Milan and, as the visuals suggest, merge two unconventional sounds

Swedish duo I AM KARATE (aka producer and songwriters, Marta Pettersson and Erika Ahlström) shares new single, ‘Hey Love’.

Speaking about insecurity, the girls explain,

“The song is about insecurity and not feeling sure you’re being honest with your love. Like he’s got a secret world when he’s dreaming that you’re not a part of, and you wonder if it’s more than just dreams.”

The leftfield leaning pop single perfectly encapsulates NoMBe’s butter-smooth vocals over the intricately created arrangement.

Nottingham-born singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Ronika is back and sounding distinctively disco-noir.

Continuing Ronika’s inclination for all things funk and dream pop, the track features spoken-word contribution from Lee-Ann Curren (a French female pro-surfer and fellow musician) whilst also forming part of Ronika’s latest longer-form project.

ECHOES

There seems to have been a slight shift to a more rock-based sound in recent months and Echoes are no exception.

Their sound is a cauldron of rock, indie and electronica.

The Dawn Golden cover of ‘All I Want’ starts of with atmospheric, ethereal electronic, and only kicks in 3/4 of the way through, but when it does, it gives us a glimpse of what Echoes maybe like live.

It’s also the first time they have sung together on a track.

I AM KARATE is an unsigned Swedish electro pop dup comprised of Marta and Erika.

They originally met when singing in their local library, and soon realised they both shared a bond and desire for producing music.

Their latest track, ‘Elevate’, is audacious and efflorescent, and despite being wholly independent, I AM KARATE has managed to create a successfully commercial sound.

Vanbot

Yet another gem from a female Swedish artist (there is seriously no stopping them!).

‘Seven’ is the new single from Vanbot, which has been taken from her upcoming album ‘Perfect Storm’.

It’s got that deep and melodic electronic sound, with ethereal vocals and honest vocals that sets Swedish artists apart.

The album was co-written with Adam Olenius (Shout Out Louds, Lykki Li) and Jan Kask (Say Lou Lou, Tove Styrke) and produced by Johannes Berglund (The Knife, I Break Horses) and will be released in May.

Sirena is a a refreshing 22-year-old Stockholm-Barcelona based singer and songwriter.

After musical studies in Barcelona Sirena returned to her home country of Sweden to concentrate on her own music and appear as a vocalist and songwriter on a couple of EDM tracks

Working alongside producer, Kretsen, Sirena reveals her latest track, ‘Lunar Lights’. We love the strong opening synths, enthralling melody and Sirena’s airy vocals.

You’ll find Sirena listed under the ‘scandipop’ category.

Wildhart – Stuck In A Second

Not another Swedish band! Well, we can’t help it because they are all so good and Wildhart is a new favourite of ours.

Following on from their Swedish counterparts, Little Dragon, Wildhart’s sound can only be described as energetic pulse beats through an electronic haze of synthesizers.

The single was recorded at Svenska Grammofon Studion by Györguy Barocksai and Henrik Alsér (who has cooperated with Robyn, Kleerup and Alicia Keys).
