St. Lucia – Dancing on Glass

St. Lucia

St. Lucia

After a two year hiatus, St. Lucia (aka Jean-Philip Grobler) returns with a synth pop gem ‘Dancing on Glass’.

It has the usual catchy 80’s-inspired chorus that we would expect from St. Lucia, as well as an amusing video directed by Noah Paul.

‘Dancing on Glass’ is taken from the upcoming ‘Matter’ album.

Late Nite Cable

Brooklyn-based synth-pop duo, Late Nite Cable, have just released their new single, ‘All Nite Girl’.

It’s a melodic track about meeting someone during a night out that you end up having a real connection with, but knowing that you’ll probably never see them again.

The song comes from the band’s upcoming debut EP, which has been co-produced by Anthony Gallo (Yeasayer, John Legend, Cat Power) and is due out next month.

Sounds like: Yeasayer, St. Lucia, Rose Quartz, Cosby

Rose Quartz – Leaving Now

Rose Quartz is a indie pop duo comprised of Alex Anderson and Ethan Converse.

They’ve been touring non-stop with St. Lucia and Electric Sons, but have still managed to nail the 80’s darkwave electronica sound in the second part of this track, and it is definitely less upbeat that their previous offerings. Perhaps, as a consequence of those long days on the road?

The video for ‘Leaving Now’ was filmed in Brooklyn, and is directed by Fredo Jones (Blurred Pictures).
