Bonnie Lola – Vanilla Ice Cream

bonnie lola

Having spent the last year releasing a wave of bold and captivating alt-rock offerings, Bonnie Lola have now returned with their latest stunner ‘Vanilla Ice Cream’.

Treading the line between alt-rock and indie-rock tendencies, the song sees the outfit channel a far more atmospheric and textured direction. Filled with powerful riffs, anthemic production, and frontman Grady Neff’s soaring vocals at the helm, this new release looks set to see them make their most diverse impact yet.

Speaking about the new single, Grady said, “The song is about a fleeting addiction that hooks you on the first taste. You might forget over time or move on, but once you’ve had it, it will remain a memory forever.

Savannah Conley – Never Want To Be In Love

savannah conley

Emerging gothic folk singer-songwriter Savannah Conley, has released the official music video for her latest single “Never Want To Be In Love“.

Co-written with songwriter Andrew Petroff (Sheryl Crow, Devon Gilfillian) and songwriter/producer Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, COIN), the song is a anthemic guitar-driven cut made unique by her rich, crystalline voice and her vulnerable, somber lyricism.

Directed by Tyler Dunning Evans, the official video offers the viewer a stunning and solemn visual with an appropriate twist of irony. From delicately imposed intimate portraits to being violently struck and thrown by lightning, Conley is soaked through with emotion, drawing an image of both innocence and devastation that is so equally matched by her lyrics.

Bear Hands – Giants

Bear Hands - Giants

Bear Hands – Giants

Bear Hands is a US indie rock band, comprising of Dillon Rau, Val Loper, Ted Feldman, and TJ Orscher.

Having studied at the same college as MGMT, Bear Hands unfortunately missed the wave that MGMT rode in 2008, and were too late for the punk rock scene in the early 2000’s. However, the tide has changed and the bands persistence is starting to pay off.

As apparent with all Bear Hands’ tracks, they take a while to mature. The track ‘Giants’ was actually released in late 2013, but some cheeky remixes have been doing the rounds of late and ‘Giants’ has picked up momentum again.

The tone of ‘Giants’ is summed up with the sexy, but pretty frantic video which features the band watching some girls rock out.

The director, Mark Pellington, explained about the video; “I wanted to make a sexy noisy pop blast…The energy and weird electric sense of desire and aggressiveness of the track was our theme…Love this band and this piece.”

Have a listen to the remixes below:

‘Giants’ is taken from the new album ‘Distraction’ which was released in the UK on 8 August 2014 via Warner Music UK and available for purchase on iTunes here.

Until The Ribbon Breaks – Goldfish

Until The Ribbon Breaks

Until The Ribbon Breaks

Until The Ribbon Breaks is Cardiff born and bred, Pete Lawrie Winfield.

‘Goldfish’ is a track that starts off optimistic with a rocky edge until the lugubriousness kicks in, reminiscent of Massive Attack’s ‘Unfinished Sympathy’. But ‘Goldfish’ suddenly twists and turns again into another direction. It is really hard to nail the direction of this track down, and that is a pretty special talent to have in itself these days. As UTRB puts it, we just can’t connect the sound.

UTRB is a student of film. Combining his desire of film with his deeply emotional beats, we can only imagine how atmospheric his shows are if this video is anything to go by.

His debut EP ‘The Other Ones’ is out now via Casablanca Music.

Sounds like: James Blake, Ben Khan, Sam Smith, Lorde, Le Youth, Massive Attack, Nordic Giants, Harts, Alex Clare, Clean Bandit
