Always the ones to make heart-wrenching pop songs for ‘Good Girls’, your favourite boy band LANY share a new video and release their debut, self-titled album.
The video for ‘Good Girls’ focuses on lead singer and songwriter Paul Klein’s hunt for his girl in a bittersweet manner, one that LANY are becoming all too well known for.
‘LANY’ is out now on Polydor Records.
Sounds like: Crozet, Pistol Shrimp, Brotherun, Goldroom, Scavenger Hunt, Still Corners, Paperwhite, Pawws, Sykes, Washed Out, New Navy, X Priest X, Roosevelt, Great Good Fine Ok, Lostboycrow, MOTHXR, X Ambassadors, Halsey, Tove Stryke, Twin Shadow, The 1975
New York sibling duo Paperwhite return with dream pop number, ‘Only Us’.
It once again showcases their ability to put together a track full of catchy hooks, transcendent synths and soaring, spirited melodies.
“Whether it’s a global issue or a broken heart, we tend to look back with nostalgia on times that were simpler,” says the band about the song. “With change comes courage, so even with heavy lyrics, we wanted to add a little Paperwhite electricity into the mix. What better way to move forward than with a little spring in your step.”
The track is the third release off their forthcoming third EP.
Devastating pop trio, LANY, have cheered us right up with the new video for ‘ILYSB’ (I love you so bad), probably our favourite LANY song to date.
Speaking of the video, lead singer, Paul Klein, says, “I turned ‘ILYSB’ into a tragedy of unhealthy obsession and unrequited love that ultimately led to psychotic behavior and total derailment.” We’ve all been there, Paul.
LANY create new wave electronica with heart melting lyrics and pop riffs, and you can catch them at one of their shows below.

The Fauve is the expressive new project from Hayley Taylor.
Originally an acoustic indie/rock singer, Taylor has taken the leap into electronica. But she hasn’t done it lightly. No, Hayley has started by collaborating with musicians like The Bravery‘s Anthony Burulcich, John Morrical (Santigold, Charli XCX, Mr. Little Jeans), and Dan Romer (Ingrid Michaelson) to create a audacious electronic sound full of shimmering electronics and fiery drumbeats.
Getting all emo on us, the LANY boys return with ‘Where The Hell Are My Friends’.
A reflective number about the loneliness of a big city, and the immense pressure to go out at the weekends. It all gets too much sometimes. Watch the result below!

New York brother-sister duo, Paperwhite, return with the synth-tastic ‘Unstoppable’.
Together, the siblings accurately navigate lush melodies and larger-than-life hooks.
The track appears off the band’s forthcoming second EP ‘Escape’, which will be released later this spring. Mixed by Chris Zane (St. Lucia, Passion Pit, Friendly Fires), ‘Unstoppable’ is “a reminder to find strength in the chaos and beauty in the unknown.”
Nashville-born and now Los Angeles-based, LANY are developing into a better and better band every time we hear them.
When discussing the meaning behind new track, ‘Kiss’, lead singer Paul Klein says. “This song is about liars. It’s about people who don’t have the balls to tell you the legitimate truth. They’ll water it down, beat around the bush, spin it whatever way they have to. They’re probably scared to tell you what really happened or how they really feel because they ‘love you.’ But they actually just love themselves.”
‘Kiss’ has been taken off their new EP, ‘Make Out’, to be released on 11 December via Polydor Records.
They are also opening for Elle Goulding during her UK tour in March. But remember, we saw them first!

Brooklyn’s brother-sister duo Paperwhite return from hibernation with flighty number, ‘Get Away’.
According to Katie Marshall, ‘Get Away’ is “the perfect song to start off our second round of releases. What feels so special about Get Away is that while it speaks of the power of freeing your mind, finding your escape, and getting away from it all, it’s inviting someone to join you”.
Taking more a futuristic tribal approach, ‘Get Away’ is a lush re-entrance for Paperwhite.
Those of you in Brooklyn can catch up with the band at The Knitting Factory on 10 January. Purchase tickets.
HANA is a LA-hailing newcomer to the Indietronica scene. Lauded by soon-to-be-tourmatesLana Del Rey and Grimes, the latter of which is good pals with Hana, frequently mentioning her online.
HANA’s debut single was produced by frequent Grimes-collaborator Blood Diamonds, and is a alluring, sweet pop-ballad, complete with subtle synths and addictive melodies.
Dreampop princess Aaron has released her ‘Letters to Jonny’ EP.
We featured track two from the EP, ‘Strong‘, a while back and caught up with Aaron to find out some more about life and music…
How and why did you start making music?
I started songwriting at 15, not taking it seriously at all. My grandfather is an incredible jazz musician and inspired me to start creating my own music. After leaving school being an artist was the only thing that seemed engaging to me and so I decided to do it.
Describe your sound in three words.
Awesome alternative pop.
Where do you cite your musical influences from?
All over, I grew up on Alt rock and jazz music, artists like TV on the Radio and Miles Davis. My mother was obsessed with early 80s Madonna and Kate Bush and I think that definitely shows in my own work.
There is a lot of other female electronic artists out there. How do you differentiate yourself?
I’m glad you asked that because as an artist I don’t believe I am bound by genre, it’s my writing style that defines me. My next project is far less electronic than ‘Letters to Jonny’.
We love new music at Indietronica. What new music are you listening to?
Alabama Shakes‘s new album ‘Sound & Colour’ I absolutely love! Shura is incredible too, I can’t wait for her album. Also a bit late to the party but I’ve had Mac DeMarco‘s ‘Salad Days’ on repeat like crazy.
What is next for you? Are you planning a tour?
I’m straight back in the studio working on my next project, which will be coming out towards the end of summer ’15. I’ll be touring after that for sure.
