LuvAbstract – Driveway

LuvAbstract

Ohio artist LuvAbstract has shared his dreamy new single ‘Driveway’.

Shining as a storyteller as well as a singer, LuvAbstract tells a very personal, but relatable tale of a goodbye,

“This story was written about me. Everyone has been in the situation where they want a few more moments to gain the courage to kiss that person. This song is a representation of how I felt during this date with ‘her’.”

PUBLIC – 4Her

PUBLIC

PUBLIC

PUBLIC are a dynamic indie pop trio from Ohio comprised of John Vaughn (lead vocals/guitar), Ben Lapps (drums) and Matt Alvarado (bass).

Their addictive new release called ‘4Her’ is a track about taking a chance in a relationship by accepting the uncomfortability of vulnerability.

We’ll dance to that.

Fine Animal – Old Dollar

Fine Animal by Josh Smith Photography

Fine Animal by Josh Smith Photography

Fine Animal is a Columbus-based dreampop trio comprising of KC Wilder, Lucy Oaks, and Kelan Gilbert. They formed in 2013.

Describing themselves as “indie electro, dream pop, glo-fi, chill wave music for ice skating”, we would agree. Although new track ‘Old Dollar’ was a creation based on a traditional work song ‘Old Dollar Mamie’ (which was recorded in 1947 at Lambert Camp at the Mississippi State Penitentiary), it is deep electro full of futuristic beats and halo vocals.

Sounds like: One Bit, Phantogram, Will Heard, Broods, Alex Clare, AGYO, Keep Shelly in Athens, Ballet School

Le Youth – Dance With Me (feat. Dominique Young Unique)

Le Youth

Le Youth

Le Youth (aka Wes James or ‘The Youth’ if you are in France) is the uber cool remixer of the moment.

Growing up in Ohio during the US R&B and UK garage peak of the 90’s (and later moving to L.A.), there are clear cross-border influences in Le Youth’s music. To date, remixes under his belt include those of Sam Smith and Disclosure.

His latest tropitronica triumph is ‘Dance With Me’ featuring Dominique Young Unique whereby Le Youth samples TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’. Check out the cheeky vid below:

It is undoubtedly clear that Le Youth does it all for the absolute love of music, which makes him a pretty loveable guy. Oh yea son we’re talking to you.

He has just finished his UK tour, but we are sure he’ll be back in no time.

Purchase on iTunes via Sign Of The Times here.

Sounds like: Lane 8, Disclosure, Sam Smith, Ben Pearce, Ben Khan, Duke Dumont, Foxes
