Suffolk school friends turned band mates Amethysts release double A-side ‘How It Is / Imitate Me’
Amethysts have worked with esteemed producers Shuta Shinoda (Daughter, Ghostpoet) and Matt Miligan to create two tracks that are looped by energetic synths, harmonies and guitars – the perfect indietronica combination.
Speaking on ‘Imitate me’, the duo state;
“Imitate me delves into the cut throat world of the music industry. This is our first diss track. It alludes to the competitive side of the industry, and how often ego’s get in the way, and bands try to get one up on each other, instead of working together to make the scene a nicer place.”
There’s a gentle buzz surrounding Brooklyn boy-girl duo Misty Mtn. Comprised of Morissa Trunzo and Lucas Segall, Misty Mtn create “dark mountain pop”, which we can only assume, judging by their music, means enchanting synth-pop and organic harmonies.
Their new single ‘We’ll Call It Even’ is co-produced by Ariel Loh (Yoke Lore), illuminates a narrative that at its core is about the age-old adage: “fake it till you make it”. The band had this to say about the song:
“‘We’ll Call it Even’ is about the hustle of being a creative person in a city you can’t afford. We started the band after meeting in a restaurant where we both worked so this one is extremely personal for us. It’s about the joys of making something out of nothing and remembering where you came from.”
London duo IDER today share the inspiring visuals for ‘Mirror,’ a breakup anthem reviewing the loss of self-identity following a breakup, which almost always ends in a triumphant celebration of your own personal strength.
