BLAJK – Good Liars

BLAJK

BLAJK

Toronto indie pop five-piece BLAJK make a tidy return to Indietronica with their latest release, ‘Good Liars’.

The track sees lead vocalist Jordan Radics telling the story of contrived, synthetic lives and personalities broadcast through screens and filters.

“Good Liars was built off another song we had written about a year ago. We had always liked its energy but didn’t really know where to go with it. So when it came time to piece together all the demos we had for the EP, that song quickly evolved and became one of our favourites. The original demo sounded much different and it took a couple nights of writing to really bring it to life. But when Jordan sang over it we knew it was strong and it proves to be whenever we play it live.”

It’s another polished and compelling offering from BLAJK. Listen below:

Honne & Izzy Bizu – Someone That Loves You

Izzy Bizu

Izzy Bizu

Gentlemen duo, HONNE, have teamed up with fellow UK artist, 22 year old, Izzy Bizu.

They met over Twitter, and decided to write ‘Someone That Loves You’, a simmering cut of electro soul.

Izzy says of the song, “it’s a song all about how we want what we can’t have and how the grass is always greener”. Driven by the rich, affecting mix of male/female vocals, ‘Someone That Loves You’ is likewise described by HONNE as a song “fundamentally about forbidden love, but from both sides of the story.”

Izzy Bizu’s debut album ‘A Moment of Madness’ is now set for release on 22 July.

Polyenso is Alex Schultz, Brennan Taulbee, and Denny Agosto from Florida. The threesome have spent the last two years working extensively with producer Jason Pennock.

Polyenso create sparse indie rock that includes elements of neo-soul, light electronics, and the odd spatula, wooden bowl and pack of peanuts, all of which contribute to their distinct, “urban indie progressive” sound.

TENDER – Cut

Tender

Tender

Following on from the brilliant ‘Lost’ by TENDER is the new single, and the third release taken from their new forthcoming ‘EPII’ EP, called ‘Cut’.

Straightforward track titles do not reflect a simplistic attitude by the duo. Quite the opposite. This is complex, dark pop that features expansive cinematic synths and aims to hypnotise.

‘EPll’ will be released on 12 February.

Watch this space for live shows.

LANY – Kiss

LANY by Alessio Boni

LANY by Alessio Boni

Nashville-born and now Los Angeles-based, LANY are developing into a better and better band every time we hear them.

When discussing the meaning behind new track, ‘Kiss’, lead singer Paul Klein says. “This song is about liars. It’s about people who don’t have the balls to tell you the legitimate truth. They’ll water it down, beat around the bush, spin it whatever way they have to. They’re probably scared to tell you what really happened or how they really feel because they ‘love you.’ But they actually just love themselves.”

‘Kiss’ has been taken off their new EP, ‘Make Out’, to be released on 11 December via Polydor Records.

They are also opening for Elle Goulding during her UK tour in March. But remember, we saw them first!
