narou – Deep End

narou

narou pens a love letter to the people around him. His new single ‘Deep End’ is the first paragraph.

Taking inspiration from his namesake (which means “becoming” in Japanese), the Vienna born, Berlin-based songwriter and producer is on a constant journey of discovery, as the visuals for the song reflect. He further explains,

“I wrote this song about my somewhat impulsive behaviour after fights in a loving relationship. I challenged myself to start with the hook in order to hit the listener with that dramatic message and feeling right away. Saying that I don’t ever wanna hear back from that person is a feeling that doesn’t reflect my actual needs when the storm has cleared, but more so a display of pure anger I felt in that very moment. The second verse really brings clarity because I realized that this feeling will pass and all I want to do is forget about it and move on. We often find ourselves in situations like this. For me personally it has been an immense learning curve and I am slowly learning to control my emotions and my anger from a place of peace and love.”

Klyne – Water Flow

Klyne by Synchrodogs

Klyne by Synchrodogs

Klyne are a duo comprised of 22 year old producer Ferdous Dehzad and singer Nick Klein, who have already supported Years & Years and Christine and The Queens.

New track, ‘Water Flow’, was created in the Dehzad’s childhood bedroom. Both specifically love the muffled sounds of the piano chords. Unintentionally created? Perhaps, but we like the hazy outcome. It works well with the soulful vocals and electronic backdrop.

‘Water Flow’ is out now via Big Beat Records/Because Music.

Klyne – Closer

Klyne

Klyne

Klyne is the musical partnership of Ferdous Dehzad and singer Nick Klein. They like to write infectious electronic pop.

New track ‘Closer’ has a sweet and soulful base, but you soon release this isn’t just any R&B track. As you delve in deeper and reach the chorus layers, you are impacted by Ferrous’s Hot Chip-esque, staccato synth lines.

Of the track, Klyne says;

“Closer is about someone going to the extreme in order to reach their lifelong desire, and at the same time coping with the fear that their fate might already be decided. One of life’s greater beauties is when a person breaks free of these psychological limitations. At first it looks like naive stubbornness, and the feelings of doubt never entirely go away. But then all of a sudden you’re halfway there, and that’s when you realize it is possible to actually achieve things that are beyond your “fate”. That’s the simple story we wanted to convey with this song – that and a ridiculous topline.”

It is out now via Aesop (SOHN, TALA, Sylas).

Sounds like: Ben Khan, James Blake, Boxed In, Hot Chip
