Their EP ‘The Black Hills’ is out now.

BONEAGE – G.N.P.M

Boneage

Moscow based Boneage share curious new track ‘G.N.P.M’ which stands for ‘Good Nights – Pale Mornings’. It follows on from the spiritual single, ‘Crystal Rainbows’.

Speaking to the duo, we were told ‘G.N.P.M’ is about MDMA (also the name of their EP – ‘My Dreams Mean All’, out now) – that feeling you have when you are high, followed by the downward spiral of reality the following morning.

NUUXS

We are suitably winding things down for our last song – ‘Real Love’ French-born artist NUUXS.

The soothing, minimalist-pop track has been co-written and produced by Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Hot Chip, Wiley, The Libertines), so no wonder it has a level of sophistication!

Fyfe – Belong (Feat. Kimbra)

FYFE

Fyfe is the musical project of Paul Dixon, and he returns with a seriously strong new track called ‘Belong’, featuring Kimbra.

It is the first single taken off Fyfe’s second album ‘The Space Between’, which is released on 9 June. The concept behind the album is it begins in a hospital ward and ends at a funeral home.

‘Belong’ was written following Paul’s experience with the separate and sudden deaths of two young friends, then his grandmother passing away, and very quickly a family friend, but also him becoming an uncle three times.

Fyfe describes ‘Belong’ as,

“the desire to find purpose in a transient life. A relationship can be helpful or a hinderance in terms of understanding who you are and ‘Belong’ is documenting someone starting to pose those questions, rather than providing the answers…Kimbra is a real creative force. Our voices are presenting the same narrative rather than a conversation between two members of a relationship.”

Fyfe will be playing a headline show at London’s Omeara on 4 May.

Sounds like: RALPH, Miike Snow, Boxed In, James Blake, Childish Gambino, SOHN, The XX, Ellie Goulding, Bombay Bicycle Club, Death Cab For Cutie, London Grammar, Foals

Noosa – Begin Again / Clocktower

Noosa by Myles Pettengill

Noosa offers us her latest tracks ‘Begin Again’ and ‘Clocktower’, both taken from her debut full length album ‘Wonderland’, which was recorded with infamous producer Mickey Valen (Ayer).

Both tracks are a good introduction to Noosa’s music, if you have not listened to Noosa before.

‘Begin Again’ is electronic pop at its best; full of layered synths and songbird vocals.

‘Clocktower’ is an emotional, but uproarious track paired with gorgeous piano chords and strings.

Noosa will be offering up two tracks per day in the lead up to ‘Wonderland’ being released on 20 May.

Sounds like: Ghost Beach, Chela, Kimbra, Ellie Goulding, Ayer, BLSHS

Alpine – Gasoline

Alpine

Alpine

Australian ALPINE have been on our radar for quite some time now. ALPINE is Phoebe Baker and Lou James (dual vocals), Christian O’Brien (guitar), Ryan Lamb (bass), Tim Royall (keys) and Phil Tucker (drums).

Since forming, Alpine have toured extensively with the likes of Grouplove, KimbraThe Naked And Famous, Matt Corby, Sparkadia, Cloud Control and The Jezabels, as well as recently performing at SXSW 2013.

They are set to support Empire of the Sun on a US tour this fall and have just announced that they will also be supporting the Foals on their Australian tour.

Their debut album, ‘A Is For Alpine’, released on Ivy League Records, is available on iTunes. The album was chosen as iTunes’ Australian Alternative Album of the Year 2012, and has received critical praise from both Rolling Stone and USA Today.

The album was recorded in Melbourne with producer Dann Hume who helped the band experiment with different sounds and textures. The album ranges from songs that rejoice their Scandinavian, melancholic sound to those that toy with more dancey, disco synths.

See below for the pastel pasted video for ‘Gasoline’. There is an official video on Youtube, but we much prefer this one.

Sounds like; Lykke Li, Phoenix, Foals
