Death In The Afternoon – Good Enough

DITA

DITA

We absolutely love Swedish producer duo, Death In The Afternoon, and they are back with killer new track, ‘Good Enough’.

As with their previous releases, on new track, ‘Good Enough’, DITA have delivered an established sound with romantic, 80’s elements. The press release compares ‘Good Enough to “Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker singing on a track produced by M83“, and that is exactly what we thought upon first listen.

Sounds like: Anteros, M83, Tame Impala, MGMT, Young Galaxy, Summer Heart, Goldroom, Karl Kling, RAC, Washed Out, Day Wave, Saltwater Sun

Exclusive: Lovespeake Playlist

Lovespeake by Olav Stubberud

Lovespeake by Olav Stubberud

We are proud to have one of Norway’s hottest exports right now, prepare a lovely playlist for all our Indietronica readers.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present Lovespeake‘s springtime playlist below:

Tycho – Montana
One of my favourite tracks to listen to while on the road touring, looking out the window and just losing myself to the soundscapes. I love everything Scott does.

Anderson Paak – Am I Wrong
This guy is such a talent. The whole album “Malibu” is a rare breed of excellence – the lyrics, production and the musicality of it all is just stunning. It doesn’t hurt having Schoolboy Q and Pomo on this banger either! Such a groover.

Housse de Racket – Roman
I remember listening to this song loads when we toured Germany back in 2012. It reminds me of sweaty nights in smoke-filled indie-bars in Hamburg and Berlin, being stuck in a mass of people going nuts to the music! The Germans can party…

Mutemath – Vitals
I was such a huge fan of Mutemath’s first record back in high school. It was one of those “holy shit” moments when I really got interested in production and layers of details that unraveled after each listen. Their songs are always so crisp, tight & punchy. They also have some great instrumentals, like “Vitals” here.

Alpine – Foolish
I got hooked on Alpine after their hit “Gasoline” a few years back. Their album “Yuck” from last year was very tasty. Such slick and clever pop tunes.

Lovespeake’s latest release ‘Tightrope’ is out today, and has been taken from the upcoming album called ‘DNA’, which is out 22nd April via Toothfairy.

Sounds like: Harts, Tame Impala, The Levity, Arcade Fire, Goldfrapp, MGMT, CHAPPO, The Flaming Lips, Carl Louis, Karl Kling

Lovespeake – DNA

Lovespeake (formerly Eye Emma Jedi) was founded by Pav and Baya, but live, the duo becomes an electric six-piece and a force to be reckoned with.

Their debut album ‘DNA’ was recorded by Pav and Baya in a barn in the woods outside Oslo, where they enlisted the assistance of producer, Jonas Raabe.

Combining musical elements from the 60’s all the way to the 90’s, and with catchy hooks and lush vocals, the lead track from the album takes the listener on an incredible journey full of funky love and gospel highs.

One’s to watch for 2016.

‘DNA’ was out on 7 January via Toothfairy.

Sounds like: Harts, Tame Impala, The Levity, Arcade Fire, Goldfrapp, MGMT, CHAPPO, The Flaming Lips, Carl Louis, Karl Kling

Death In The Afternoon – ’82

DITA

DITA

Death In The Afternoon (DITA) is a Scandenaivna electronic duo, formed of Christian and Linda.

With the current media age, there are no boundaries for musicians to team up and produce a track remotely across the globe from one another. This is exactly what DITA have done with new song, ‘’82’.

Airy, dreamy and filled with sky high vocal lines and a sense of melancholia, this is one beautiful death in the afternoon.

Listen below.

’82 will be released via Summer Heart’s label Sommarhjärta, and it will be available for sale and download everywhere from the 28 August.

Sounds like: Anteros, M83, MGMT, Young Galaxy, Summer Heart, Goldroom, Karl Kling, RAC, Washed Out, Day Wave

Karl Kling – I Will Wait

Karl Kling

Karl Kling

Another great artist from Portland. This time it’s Karl Kling, and he’s taking a breather from RAC to produce his own material.

Watch the David Lynch inspired video for ‘I Will Wait’; a surreal exploration of love and expression, it features a leading woman who, in a dream, has lost her mouth. She meets another woman, a shadow reflection of herself, who helps her to find it.

Sounds like: The Postal Service, RAC, Washed Out, Satin Jackets, Pink Feathers
