MISSIO – Twisted

MISSIO

MISSIO

Meet MISSIO.

Formed by Matthew Brue & David Butler, the duo are feeling a little ‘Twisted’ today, as they release their next single.

Operatic vocals, with dark electronic undertones, Brue from MISSIO opens up to us about the truth behind the track;

“The song is a precursor to the story of my life involving addiction to drugs and alcohol. ‘Twisted’ represents the personal realization that I view myself differently than the rest of the world views me. It describes the unintentional and intentional comments my family made growing up about the type of person they thought I should be. This ultimately leads to the pre-chorus where I confront these comments with the truth of my own reality. I’m uncontrollable, emotional, chaotically proportional, I’m visceral, reloadable, I’m crazy.”

Co-produced with Dwight A. Baker, ‘Twisted’ is out tomorrow via Taste And Tone, a really cool label who release one new track a month.

Sounds like: Aquilo, Jack Garratt, Thom Yorke, Boxed In, Nordic Giants

Gabrielle Aplin – Miss You

Gabrielle Aplin - Miss You

Gabrielle Aplin – Miss You

Wow, Gabrielle Aplin is back with a complete change in direction, but we like it.

Her instantly recognisable vocals work perfectly with the soft tropical undertones of her new radio-ready and bittersweet love song, ‘Miss You’.

Co-written by Aplin ‘Miss You’ was produced by Mike Spencer (Snakehips, Rudimental  Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding, Jack Garratt), who also produced Aplin’s debut album ‘English Rain’.

Not satisfied with writing new material, Aplin has also started up her very own independent record label Never Fade Records which was founded “in order to give young talent and unsigned artists their first stepping stone in the music industry.”

Aplin’s forthcoming ‘Miss You EP’ will features three original tracks along with a beautiful piano version of ‘Miss You’ in Aplin’s signature style.

Sounds like: Monogem, Ellie Goulding

Otis English – Young Kids, Old Love

Otis English

Otis English

Meet Otis English, an extraordinary and highly relatable Los Angeles-based musician who has a bit of a rollercoaster background (which includes accidentally burning down his family home when he was younger).

His debut is a well-crafted pop track called ‘Young Kids, Old Love’, that is endearing as much as it is unapologetically gritty.

We are expecting good things from Otis English.

His upcoming debut EP will be released shortly via Crooked Paintings. The single is available on iTunes now.

Sanctuary Sound – One Clear Thought

Sanctuary Sound

Sanctuary Sound

Sanctuary Sound is the project of multi-instrumentalist Cade Sadler, who creates peaceful and reflective music.

It consists only of him, a lap top, and an old Stratocaster, and with these minimal apparatus, he creates dreamy, atmospheric guitar drones underscored by deep back beat grooves.

Despite the track appearing to be ‘One Clear Thought’, the process of production is joyfully flustering; starting off with glitchy gameboy-style keys, followed by contemporary vocals and rhythmic drums, later finishing with distorted interruptions.

His five-track EP, ‘Brass Ring’, is out now.

Sounds like: Jack Garratt, Honne, Tame Impala, Summer Heart, Day Wave, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Brian Eno, Bob Dylan
