Continuing to pave the way for UK producers, JoeGoddard of HotChip/The2Bears shares ‘Music Is The Answer’, featuring the vocal talents of Jess Mills.
The video for the song is directed by Shynola creative collective. Director Richard Kenworthy says,
“The message of this track really resonated with us coming off the back of what for most people was a dispiriting year. We’d recently been reading about the AWOL Hitomi satellite, and also the incredible Pinchas Gutter hologram and that lead to imagine a story about a satellite lost in the vastness of space, broadcasting a recorded message of hope.”
‘Music Is The Answer’ is taken from ‘Electric Lines’, Joe’s debut solo album out 21 April via Greco-Roman/DominoRecords. Pre order on iTunes here.

Big up upcoming producer/singer/songwriter/DJ, ELKKA and her new video for ‘Try’.
Combining elements of pop, garage, and electronica with what sounds like samples of the Street Fighter game, the video is equally as complex. It has been directed by Adrian Ardelean and is the first in a trilogy where each EP will be accompanied by an intimate video.
‘Try’, co-produced with Pop Morrison, has been taken from ELKKA’s debut EP, ‘Her’, out now.
“This series of EPs are a lyrical documentary about a pivotal moment in my life. The series follows my experiences of meeting the first girl I ever dated. HER. It was completely intoxicating and for a brief moment it felt like it could have been more than just lust but of course, the drama and chaos she brought came later which you will hear all about in second and third part of the series – THEM and US.’’

Klyne are a duo comprised of 22 year old producer Ferdous Dehzad and singer Nick Klein, who have already supported Years & Years and Christine and The Queens.
New track, ‘Water Flow’, was created in the Dehzad’s childhood bedroom. Both specifically love the muffled sounds of the piano chords. Unintentionally created? Perhaps, but we like the hazy outcome. It works well with the soulful vocals and electronic backdrop.
‘Water Flow’ is out now via Big Beat Records/Because Music.

Following on from the catchy, ‘Nobody’, shapeshifter and musician, Fwar, shares the video for opposing track, ‘Everybody’.
Industrial twangs and minimalistic layers of Eastern tendencies, the video was choreographed by Barnaby Booth and edited by Isaac Eastgate (LAPriest, Kindness, DjangoDjango).
Fwar says that, “Everybody is about allowing yourself the freedom to form a new identity by flirting with alternative outlooks, seeking new experiences & becoming alien to all that you took for granted. Nothing compares to being able to look at life with the curiosity of a child.”

Don’t be fooled into thinking Deep Dark Blue come from anywhere other than Los Angeles.
This Californian duo create hypnotic electronica, and although their new track ‘Been Here Once Before’ is not a trigger-happy, dance floor filler, it has a familiarity that will appease both those who enjoy a chilled Sunday afternoon in the park, as well as the nighttime clubbers amongst us.
Building around a percussive (and slightly tropical) backbeat and methodically adding lush sonic textures, ‘Been Here Once Before’ gently unfolds into a euphoric track with soothing bass lines and heavenly guitar interludes, making us question whether we really have been here once before.

‘O B 1’ is the first taster of Jaguar Ma‘s new material.
Written by Jono Ma and Gabriel Winterfeld, and produced by Jono Ma, the accompanying video is a psychedelic journey of footage filmed over the past couple of years, performing and recording around the world, including their recent tour dates with Tame Impala. It features visuals from Hans Lo; the guy responsible for their kaleidoscopic stage visuals.
Their album, ‘Every Now & Then’ is due out in the Autumn via Marathon Artists / Mom+ Pop / FutureClassic.

London based art-pop project KYOTI share the beautiful visuals for ‘Curved Edge Straight Line’.
The trio base their image and artwork on the abstractness of an ordinary, mundane world. Specifically inspired by British Modernist sculptors like Barbara Hepworth and the surrealist optical illusions of M.C. Escher, KYOTI balance their aesthetic with the over-arching impact of contemporary pop music, citing artists like Hot Chip and Joanna Newsom amongst their influences.
Original vocals layered over jazz electronica, alongside intelligent lyrics and minimalistic tendencies, ‘Curved Edge Straight Line’ creatively combines rich synth textures with thoughtful storytelling, exploring the theme of dependency on both substances and other people.
