Playlist: Sean Turk

Sean Turk

Production seems to be Sean Turk‘s forte, having already released material on Warner, Spinnin’ Records, and Ultra Records and gained support from some key players.

We wanted to get inside the musical mind of the New York-based #BedroomBass enthusiast to find out where he finds the inspiration for his music.

The result is the below playlist, or in Sean’s own words…

Hey what’s going on y’all! Here is a playlist that kind of encompasses the vibes I’m feeling at the moment. A lot of similar stuff that I am usually influenced by. These songs are my go to for traveling/driving around from day to day. Hope you guys enjoy!

GOLDHOUSE – Sex On Me

GOLDHOUSE

Time for something a little more fun and risqué than our usual postings.

Originally from Chicago, GOLDHOUSE – the musical project of Grant Harris – is used to producing feel-good tracks that make you want to get down, and his new single, ‘Sex On Me’, does just that.

It’s our guilty pleasure release of the week!

It’s out now on Armada Deep.

Sounds like: Gryffin, Kygo, Sam Feldt

Everywhere – Man Up

Everywhere

UK based band Everywhere share their bright new number, ‘Man Up’, which features vocals by Swedish singer/songwriter Rebecca Nohr.

The band’s name is inspired by the quote “Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere” by former Cosmopolitan editor Helen Gurley Brown. Having already played the NME Awards alongside Django Django and Palma Violets, and supporting the Kaiser Chiefs, we suspect Everywhere fit into the latter part of category.

Hardly casual, the track considers what it’s like to be a man in the modern world, delving into themes about unfulfilled expectations.

Expect an album later this year.

Sounds like: ISLAND, Sam Feldt, Gryffin, Fickle Friends, Of Monsters And Men, Kid Astray, Oh Wonder

Kasbo – Found You (Feat. Chelsea Cutler)

Kasbo - Found You (Feat. Chelsea Cutler)

Swedish producer, Kasbo, has teamed up with US vocalist, Chelsea Culter on new track ‘Found You’.

Soft tropical percussion; sway-inducing, breezy synths; and lush vocals immediately lead you into a dream state.

Kasbo explains,

““Found You” kinda came about with me just sitting by the piano with open windows on a warm sunny day. When I came up with the chord progression and humming melody, I directly felt that it encapsulated the moment I was in– that kind of vibe when the sun comes through the window, everything is still and you can see all the dust particles float in the air. I just wanted to reflect that entire mood, there’s something very magical about it for me.”

Interview: Gryffin

Gryffin

You should all know who Gryffin is by now. He’s a producer and DJ from Los Angeles who creates dance-led indietronica.

We caught up with Gryffin to talk music, old and new.

Hey Gryffin, how are you?
I’m doing very well! Super excited about the release of the new single and am currently working hard on new music and preparing my new live show for the upcoming festival season.

Describe your sound in three words.
Uplifting, emotional, empowering.

You put together a playlist for us a while back. Have your musical taste changed in any way since then?
I don’t know if they’ve changed particularly but there’s always new music that’s coming out that I admire!

What was it like working with Josef Salvat?
That was an incredible experience. I had been a huge fan of him since I first heard “Open Season” so I was very excited for the opportunity to work with him. He’s a very cool guy and is super talented so it made my life a lot easier.

Are there any plans to tour the UK?
I was just there! Spent almost 2 weeks out there touring throughout the U.K. with Sigala which was so awesome. I had never been to any places in the U.K. besides London so it was a great experience getting to travel to different places and meeting people there. Hopefully I will come back soon!

We love new music at Indietronica. What new music are you listening to?
I’m currently really into the Khalid album and am really digging LANY at the moment.

You can listen to Gryffin‘s new track with Illenium below.

Sounds like: Thomas Jack, Goldroom, Bipolar Sunshine

Los Angeles-based producer/multi instrumentalist, Gryffin, has been going from strength to strength over the last couple of years.

We thought it was about time he put together a playlist for you lot.

Snakehips & MØ – Don’t Leave (Gryffin Remix)
I really love MØ’s raw emotion, and I wanted to be able to amplify in my own way with this remix but with a little bit of a twist from my normal style.

Louis The Child – Love Is Alive (feat. Elohim)
The Louis the Child guys have been on fire recently. “Love Is Alive” has their signature sound but in a indier direction.

RUFUS DU SOL – Innerbloom (What So Not Remix)
This remix is always awesome to play out in my DJ sets.

Illenium – Fractures (feat. Nevve)
Illenium is a great friend of mine and his new track “Fractures” shows exactly why he is one of the best future bass producers out there.

The xx – On Hold
The xx have been a favorite band of mine for a while. Really love this track off their new album.

Twenty One Pilots – Heavydirtysoul
TOP have the perfect blend of rock, electronic, and pop elements in their music. “Heavydirtysoul” is one of my favorite’s from their latest album.

Whethan – Savage feat. Flux Pavilion & MAX
Whethan is one of the most talented young producers out there and I was really excited when he released “Savage.”

San Holo – Light
“Light” is an unlikely crossover track but its been really cool to see it catch onto the commercial crowd.

Gryffin – Whole Heart (Young Bombs Remix)
Young Bombs absolutely crushed this remix of “Whole Heart.” Their Snapchat is hilarious too.

Mura Masa & A$AP Rocky – Love$ick
Mura Masa is hands-down one of the best producers out their. His collaboration with A$AP Rocky is the perfect blend of urban and dance.

LOYAL – Moving As One

LOYAL

LOYAL

UK collective, LOYAL are living for the moment with their new single, ‘Moving As One’.

It sounds more like a live jamming session than a recorded release, further highlighting the meaning behind the song.

We love how the band candidly meander around each other, taking it in turns to showcase luring vocals and faithful harmonies, all building to a climax in a classic house style.

Having recently signed to IAMSOUND, expect more great things from LOYAL.

Sounds like: Jungle, Nimmo, Boxed In, Gryffin, Fairchild, Retro Culture, Angus Dawson, Foals
