Evil Astronaut – Seasons

Evil Astronaut

Swedish duo, Evil Astronaut, share the multicoloured video for ‘Seasons’.

It’s a little more electronic than their last single, ‘Orbit Berlin’, which fits more into the Bon Iver spectrum of things, but perhaps Evil Astronaut didn’t really know what direction ‘Seasons’ would take because at the time of filming the video in an empty reservoir, all that existed was lyrics and a vague idea of a sound.

It wasn’t until they saw the colours and reflections in the first cut, that they decided to change the song to fit the new vibe.

Sounds like: Yoke Lore, MGMT, Gotye, Bon Iver

Slowing down things with new track, Gothenburg sibling duo, Tracy Irve return with ‘To Mind’, a release composed of raw vocals and modest production.

Growing up surrounded by rock music (their father was in Swedish rock group Snowstorm), discovering a mutual love for acoustic pop and singer/songwriters, later working with Chris Stokes, and signing to (and subsequently separating from) label Silent Partner have all lead to this moment where the duo feel free to share their dark and downtempo electronic sound.

Emmecosta – Brontos

Emmecosta

Emmecosta

Emmecosta is a Gothenburg based post-club trio comprised of Claudio, Alfonso, and Aldo.

Both Claudio and Alfonso are from Positano and grew up playing music together. Aldo is from Milan and moved to Sweden to study Anthropology of Art. The trio met and started making music.

In their own words they describe their music as alternative dream pop that “celebrates intimate landscapes through a melancholic stream that merges with dreamy vocal narratives.”

“When it comes to songwriting, or sound writing, we start from a small detail; a single piece of a huge puzzle, which is something dear to us. Then we build en epic scenario that evokes the truth of this modest little detail.”

Watch the video for ‘Brontos’ below. It has been co-directed by Jeremy Carne and Nikolas Kasinos, and showcases the dreamy soundscapes, urban beats and nordic coolness of Emmecosta.

Their upcoming debut EP ‘UNTIED’ will be out soon.

Wildhart – Stuck In A Second

Not another Swedish band! Well, we can’t help it because they are all so good and Wildhart is a new favourite of ours.

Following on from their Swedish counterparts, Little Dragon, Wildhart’s sound can only be described as energetic pulse beats through an electronic haze of synthesizers.

The single was recorded at Svenska Grammofon Studion by Györguy Barocksai and Henrik Alsér (who has cooperated with Robyn, Kleerup and Alicia Keys).

Sounds like: Little Dragon, Kid Astray, Depeche Mode, Phantogram, Santigold, SBTRKT, CSS, Sirena
