IDER – Mirror

IDER by Lottie Turner

IDER by Lottie Turner

London duo IDER today share the inspiring visuals for ‘Mirror,’ a breakup anthem reviewing the loss of self-identity following a breakup, which almost always ends in a triumphant celebration of your own personal strength.

Shot by Lily Rose Thomas on Bromley High Street, the visuals are simplistic and honest, perfectly echoing the vulnerability of the song and the instinctive harmony of the girls.

James Hersey – Miss You

James Hersey

James Hersey

Vienna is a hotpot for dance-led indietronica, and one particular artist who has come to our attention (along with 15 million others, as shown by his Spotify figures) is James Hersey.

Growing up on a recipe of guitars and Michael Jackson, it comes at quite a surprise that James would produce music with such balearic vibes.

James is not afraid of mixing genres, or getting his hands dirty, either; the video for ‘Miss You’ has been co-edited by Hersey himself and directed/shot by Schall & Schnabel in Berlin.

‘Miss You’ was produced with Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran) and mixed by Stephen Fitzmaurice (Sam Smith, Disclosure), with and is out via Glassnote Records.

Honne have also given the track some remix treatment, which you can listen to below.

Son Lux – Change is Everything

Son Lux

Son Lux

We saw Son Lux play Iceland Airwaves festival last year and to say it was an epic show is an understatement.

Originally comprised of solo artist Ryan Lott, and now a trio, Son Lux is back with a just as awe-inspiring video for ‘Change is Everything’.

Created by The Made Shop, the video is a unique rotoscopic stop-motion film made with drawing pins and 200 feet of thread.

Of the video Lott said, “Made Shop continue to outdo themselves as the visual force behind our music. They bring to the eyes a type of unexpected magic, a strange but familiar energy. These are the things we hope our music brings to your ears.”

It is the first single from the band’s fourth full-length album, ‘Bones’, which is out on 23 June via Glassnote.

Sounds like: David Bowie, M83

Phoenix – Trying To Be Cool

French four-piece Phoenix were playing together for over 10 years before they got properly noticed thanks to their 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Now they are back with an equally charming fifth album ‘Bankrupt!’ which was out 19th April 2013 on Glassnote Records and Atlantic Records.

Now they have just unveiled the video for ‘Trying to Be Cool’, which a choreographed special effects filmset with all sorts of cameras, instruments, props, crew and cast appearing in an ascending staged production climaxing with a mass dance sequence to a section from the sixth track from ‘Bankrupt’; ‘Drakkar Noir’.
