Wishes

Wishes

Combining acoustic and electronic music composition, meet Sydney-based producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Wishes (aka John Towey, formerly of low-fi pop quartet, Convaire).

‘I Want To Be Alone With You’ is a high-inducing number, with an intergalactic video to match.

Directed by Gareth Davies, the video for ‘I Want To Be Alone With You’ tells a visceral love story in an opulent display of smoke, lights and shadows.

Vallis Alps – Young

Vallis Alps

Vallis Alps

Vallis Alps is a new trio from Australia comprising of Parissa and David Ansari.

They are a prime example of the quality of music exports from Australia that we’ve seen in the last few years. Just think of all the artists on the Future Classic label alone!

Our favourite and most indietronica track from the self-titled EP is ‘Young’, but we also like the EDM production value of ‘Thru’. Have a listen to ‘Young’ below:

Sounds like: Goldroom, Chela, Broods, Prinze George, July Child, Banks, X Priest X, Daughter

New Navy – Heaven

New Navy

New Navy

Indietronica are big fans of Australian indie group New Navy.

They have finally released some new material and we are excited to share it with you now!

New track ‘Heaven’ was written at a lakeside cottage on the South Coast of New South Wales and showcases singer O’Loughlin’s smooth tones.

The track still has snippets of the band’s favourite tropical synths and dreamy riffs, but it is more than usually mellow.

The effortlessly romantic video follows a couple in a roller disco dream.

‘Heaven’ is the first single taken from the upcoming EP. Purchase the single on iTunes via themusicconnection.

Whilst we have your attention, you may as well listen to ‘Zimbabwe’ because its a killer track.

Sounds like: The Foals, The Whitest Boy Alive, Phoenix, Cold War Kids, The Klaxons, The Editors, I Know Leopard

Roosevelt – Elliot

Roosevelt

ROOSEVELT

Calling all fans of The Whitest Boy Alive.

Let us take the pleasure of introducing you to the adorable Cologne-based electronic artist, ROOSEVELT and his new track ‘Elliot’.

The track is somewhere in between lounge synth pop and indie dance; perfect for waking you up during the 4am club lull.

The video starts off reasonably slow as we follow a ‘tomb raider’ styled girl to a water pool, where she quickly undresses and dives in leading us to a mirage of beautiful surfers. It is instantly refreshing and leaves us wanting more!

ROOSEVELT’s ‘Elliot’ EP, which also includes his previous tracks ‘Around You’ and ‘Sea’, is out now on iTunes via Greco-Roman (the same label that has brought us Disclosure and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs).

Future Classic have also announced that they will be the new Australian/New Zealand label for ROOSEVELT and the debut EP was locally released on 20 September 2013.

We also throw you his super funky remix of Scenic‘s ‘Shockwaves’, just because we love him!

Scenic – Shockwaves

Scenic

Youthful Perth boys Scenic joined the likes of Aeroplane and fellow Aussies Jagwar Ma on the Future Classic roster in 2011, fitting in like a missing giant disco jigsaw piece.

They were quickly spotted by ‘The Godfather of French Electro’, Joakim, who released their first single ‘This Can’t Be’ on his Tigersushi label out of Paris.

Their fantastic debut EP ‘Another Sky’ was recorded in a studio that the boys set up in a beach house in a small community south of Perth and the songs are simply written about the places they’ve been and the people they’ve met.

Following the release of ‘Another Sky’ with the two original tracks and an insanely good remix from The Magician, Future Classic introduces the lead single and title track from their sophomore EP titled ‘Shockwaves’. The single was released on iTunes on 28 June. The release date of the EP is still being kept under wraps by Future Classic.

The new video of ‘Shockwaves’ is a montage of well-timed scenes from the early 80s and is classic retro, nostalgic, and disco psychedelia.

Sounds like: Phoenix, Jagwar Ma, Cut Copy, Gypsy & The Cat, Du Tonc
