Paco Versailles – Black and White

Paco Versailles

The new song from Paco Versailles is anything but ‘Black and White’.

Echoes of Andalusia can be heard within its instrumental interludes and chorus, while a Parisian French Touch provides the foundation that carries the story.

The name Paco Versailles was conceived while imagining a collaboration between the duo’s biggest influences – the legendary Spanish guitarist Paco de Lucia and French electronic artists Daft Punk and Air, both products of the Parisian suburb of Versailles.

Full of fruity disco flair and tropical licks – aka “Dancemenco” – the luminous duo, led by Vahagni and Ryan Merchant (of Capital Cities), have spent the last year creating and establishing their original sound.

French Horn Rebellion – Renaissance Man

French Horn Rebellion

Rebellious band geeks, French Horn Rebellion shares new single ‘Renaissance Man’.

A combination of French horn played “really really loud” and laid back groovy beats, these two brothers – aka Brooklyn-based Robert and David Perlick-Molinari – know how to make you dance.

Since its inception, French Horn Rebellion has been an independent project, and the brothers now also co-own their very own label and studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn – YouTooCanWoo. The studio has been responsible for producing musical artists such as MGMT and The Knocks, while also creating the audio identities for companies like Spotify, MTV and LOGO.

The track is taken from their ‘Graduation Compilation,’ an album comprised of past hits and new tracks, signaling the end of an era as they launch their new disco/house/dance label imprint, toucan sounds.

Lake Jons -Call Me

Lake Jons

Following on from the brilliant ‘Colors‘, Finnish trio Lake Jons release ‘Call Me’.

Once again ethereal vocals clash and blend with tinny drums. We can’t help but think severe isolation in the woods is the way forward – it really does produce inspirational music!

Expect their forthcoming self-titled debut album to come out on 19 January through AntiFragile Music.

Violet Sands – Unusual

Violet Sands

Having already produced and mixed for artists like MGMT and The Knocks, Violet Sands are gearing up to release their album, ‘Hotel’.

The third track taken from the album is called ‘Unusual’, which frontwoman Deidre Muro describes as “riding the enchanted waves of discovering something or someone new. There’s a lot of magic in that first spark of curiosity – it’s like waking up from a lifelong dream to a completely new heightened reality. This song is that moment in extreme slow motion, reveling in all the emotions, uncertainties, and intrigue.”
