Another Sky – Fell In Love With The City

Another Sky

Another Sky returns with the DIY video for ‘Fell In Love With The City’.

Filmed on some old mini DV tape cameras, kindly donated by a few fans, the visuals, directed by frontwoman Catrin Vincent, capture the excitement of being in a city.

On the single, Vincent explains,
“I hate breakup songs. I don’t know why, it’s the most universal feeling. Maybe because the world has so many of them. Moving to London was a dramatic shift from small-town life where it didn’t even occur to me I could do music, where this vision of me as a housewife who never amounted to anything felt inescapable, in to a bigger world, of people from all over, of new ideas and a new version of myself.”

Their debut album ‘I Slept On The Floor’ is due for release on 7th August via Fiction Records and continues their ability to cover hard-hitting, difficult topics with unparalleled cinematic sounds, with a tentatively hopeful outlook, as always.

The Naked and Famous – Show Review

The Naked And Famous

The Naked And Famous

Indietronica popped down to the Concorde 2 in Brighton to watch New Zealander’s The Naked And Famous, with support from Sons & Lovers.

Upon entering the venue, there was a intoxicating smell of sweets, which we soon realised was not fruit cider. It is safe to say that TNAF attract a young crowd, however this should not dissuade any potential, ‘older’ listeners from attending their shows. TNAF has a lot to offer all ages.

Proceedings were kicked off with the epic ‘I Kill Giants’. TNAF continued to play an eclectic mix of old and new tracks, including ‘A Stillness’, ‘Punching in a Dream’, ‘All of This’, ‘Waltz’, and ‘What We Want’.

Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith presented real chemistry on stage and remained ever-humble, getting the crowd singing along to title track from their latest sophomore album, ‘In Rolling Waves’, and swaying to ‘Hearts Like Ours’.

Events were encored with the crowd’s favourite, ‘Young Blood’.

TNAF has expanded their critically acclaimed sophomore full-length, ‘In Rolling Waves’ with a special deluxe edition available on iTunes now via Fiction. The deluxe edition includes remixes by Sombear, Ducky, Big Black Delta, and MS MR. In addition, the band enlisted the talents of The Chain Gang of 1974, Space Above, and Strange Babes to cut covers of select songs, each act adding their own flair and fire to the music in the process.

A special shout out to Sons & Lovers who gave an excellent supporting performance.
