Tally Spear – City Girl

Tally Spear

Folk/pop singer Tally Spear shares her new single, ‘City Girl’.

You’d be forgiven for thinking Spear comes from further afield than London, with her fitting take on US-born country with a pop tinge.

Although Spear’s debut EP, ‘Fade To White’, received critical acclaim in the spring of 2018, she knew that something didn’t feel quite right to her. Despite having attracted nearly 200,000 streams for her single Days Like These, Spear decided to take time out.

During the 5 months she spent crafting her new material alongside acclaimed writer/producer Martin Hollis (Adele, Mark Ronson, Tom Walker, The Staves) at British Grove Studios.

Tally explains, “Something just happened with my taste. I just went through a change of what I was listening to when I was writing. It just became this new sound. I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to do in terms of production.”

The result is ‘City Girl’. Listen below.

Maja Francis

Newly signed Swede, Maja Francis is back with the video for ‘Come Companion’.

It’s a beautifully crafted pop number with falsetto vocals bursting out of a luscious forest of delicate synths.

A modern day Dolly Parton, perhaps?

The song is the lead single and title track of Maja’s debut EP ‘Come Companion’, released earlier this year via Sweden Music / Universal Sweden.

Sounds like: Dolly Parton, Kate Bush, Robyn, Susanne Sundfør, Tove Lo, Petite Meller, Seinabo Sey, Grimes
