The 1975 – I’m In Love With You

The 1975 by Samuel Bradley

The 1975 by Samuel Bradley

Manchester band The 1975 share new single ‘I’m In Love With You,’ the third track from their highly anticipated forthcoming new album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’.

The Samuel Bradley-directed video is a visual sequel to the ‘Change of Heart’ video. Exaggerated in a “Can we really ever find true love?” kind of way, but equally an uplifting endeavour, it features a cameo performance from Phoebe Bridgers and has some perfectly timed comedic moments thanks to frontman Matt Healy.

Released on 14 October via Dirty Hit, you can pre-order the album here.

Ben Khan – Ruby

Ben Khan

Ben Khan has been quietly collecting praise from tastemakers across the music scene. The highly talented, multi-instrumentalist has just released the visuals for ‘Ruby’, his favourite track of the recent self-entitled album, out now via Dirty Hit.

Directed and produced entirely by Khan himself, the visuals perfectly marry the track’s synthetic and futuristic themes with his undemanding vocals, silently driven by anger and sadness.

A year ago, he travelled to Kashmir, the home of his father (who works in textiles, and whose floral art inspired some of the album’s artwork), “and I just walked around and took sounds on my daily rituals, and tried to put that in there somehow, so it felt like a journey through places.” The result, he hopes, is a work of “magical realism.”

Ben Khan – Youth

Ben Khan

Ben Khan

We’ve been stalking this guy for a while and rightly so. Ben Khan likes to keep himself to himself and let his music take centre stage.

Torn between wanting to reach the ‘passive listeners’ (those of us who don’t go actively seeking for new sounds) and trying not to make music just for the cash, the elusive Mr Khan has clearly put a lot of thought into his sound. We understand that he has been working on his debut EP for 2 years now.

His latest track (taken from the ‘1992’ EP) is ‘Youth’. The sky soaring track is full of retro vibes and soulful vocals, but remains slightly less funky that its predecessors; ‘Eden’ and ‘Savage’.

We’re sorry Mr Khan, but we can already hear the cash counters tinging.

The highly anticipated ‘1992’ EP is out on 5 May 2014 via Ben Khan’s own Blessed Vice and is available for pre-order now.

Sounds like: Twin Shadow, Jai Paul, JUNGLE, Disclosure, Prince, Blood Orange, Soft As Snow, Gabriel
