Exclusive: Guns Playlist

Guns

Guns

Guns is 24 year old, Norwegian Gunhild Jarwson Tekle, who is now based in Denmark.

She’s lovingly prepared a chilled pop playlist for us.

See the track list below:

1) Nico – These days

Reminds me of a sort of summery boredom.

2) Texas – Inner Smile

Oh I have been dancing so much to this song, I’m in love with it. I did a terrible version of it in a karaoke bar in Berlin over Christmas.

3) Kylie Minogue – Slow

For some reason this song reminds me of summer. Maybe because of the music video with Kylie by the pool, surrounded by a bunch of men.

4) Sean Nicolas Savage – Promises

I just discovered this artist playing a small concert in ideal bar in Copenhagen, he was so crazy good and charismatic on stage!

5) Blood Orange – Chamakay

I think i just love music that sounds like a jungle.

6) Enya – Boadicea

Think it’s so great how there’s just her vocals and keys, and its so mysterious sounding too. And that there are no lyrics at all.

7) David Lynch – The Line It Curves

Makes me wanna get a drivers license so i can drive around listening to this at night. That goes for the whole album by the way.

8) Michael Jackson – Stranger in Moscow

It’s Michael walking around in bad weather.

9) Burial – Hiders

I’ve just been listening a lot to this this winter.

10) Tame Impala – Yes I’m Changing

I find this track so beautiful, and weirdly motivating. (Listened a lot to it while walking to school in the morning).

Like Guns’s vibe? Listen to ‘I Know Exactly How It Feels’ below.

It was released on 22nd January via Tigerspring / +1 Records.

Karl Kling – I Will Wait

Karl Kling

Karl Kling

Another great artist from Portland. This time it’s Karl Kling, and he’s taking a breather from RAC to produce his own material.

Watch the David Lynch inspired video for ‘I Will Wait’; a surreal exploration of love and expression, it features a leading woman who, in a dream, has lost her mouth. She meets another woman, a shadow reflection of herself, who helps her to find it.

Sounds like: The Postal Service, RAC, Washed Out, Satin Jackets, Pink Feathers

Pale Hands – Fanatic

Pale Hands

Pale Hands

Given that Pale Hands released a full length debut album back in October 2014, it’s somewhat miraculous that the Boston duo haven’t attracted more attention.

Lush, buoyant vocals dance over echo laden guitars and synths to create an electro pop that nestles neatly between the likes of Crystal Castles and Chvrches, only slowed down somewhat to intensify the experience.

‘Fanatic’ is the lead single from the album ‘Spirit Lines’, which was evidently born from a period of pain and suffering. Spacious tracks accompany dark lyrics to create the kind of atmospheric indietronica that we at the Bristol Beats Club and Indietronica simply can’t get enough of.

Sounds like: Cocteau Twins, Chvrches, David Lynch, Crystal Castles, Glass Animals
