Cub Sport – Good Guys Go

Cub Sport

Cub Sport‘s new single ‘Good Guys Go’, questions just that – unreciprocated love, unfortunately a common theme in a lot of relationships.

The neon video, directed by Joe Agius is shot in real time with one roaming camera, and tries to capture an intense feeling of loss, inspired by images from fashion magazines and music videos by Michael Jackson, TLC, and Perfume Genius.

LANY – Kiss

LANY by Alessio Boni

LANY by Alessio Boni

Nashville-born and now Los Angeles-based, LANY are developing into a better and better band every time we hear them.

When discussing the meaning behind new track, ‘Kiss’, lead singer Paul Klein says. “This song is about liars. It’s about people who don’t have the balls to tell you the legitimate truth. They’ll water it down, beat around the bush, spin it whatever way they have to. They’re probably scared to tell you what really happened or how they really feel because they ‘love you.’ But they actually just love themselves.”

‘Kiss’ has been taken off their new EP, ‘Make Out’, to be released on 11 December via Polydor Records.

They are also opening for Elle Goulding during her UK tour in March. But remember, we saw them first!

Sounds like: Crozet, Pistol Shrimp, Brotherun, Goldroom, Scavenger Hunt, Still Corners, Paperwhite, Pawws, Sykes, Washed Out, New Navy, X Priest X, Roosevelt, Great Good Fine Ok, Lostboycrow, MOTHXR, X Ambassadors, Halsey, Tove Stryke, Twin Shadow

Skymachine

Skymachine is a New Zealand-based synth outfit.

Their latest track ‘Lack of Black Gold’ is beautifully emotive track, filled with M83-esque falsetto lines and synth tapestries, and luxurious hip-hop glitches throughout.

Skymachine have drawn inspiration from a love for the night and an almost escapist lyrical theme.

A debut EP will be out soon. Watch this space!

The Japanese House – Clean

The Japanese House by Dave Ma

The Japanese House by Dave Ma

The Japanese House is19 year-old Londoner, Amber Bain.

Remember the feeling you had when you first heard Imogen Heap’s ‘Hide and Seek’? The Japanese House has managed to recreate that same feeling with ‘Clean’.

Having worked on ‘Clean’ with George Daniel and Matthew Healy of The 1975, the track sees The Japanese House expand on the ascending, melancholic electronica showed in previous tracks.

The video for ‘Clean’ contains filtered snapshots of lives, further highlighting her unique and hazy sound.

‘Clean’ is the title track of The Japanese House’s forthcoming EP, which is out on 6 November 2015 via Dirty Hit Records. Pre-order now on iTunes.

LANY - Someone Else

LANY – Someone Else

We love how different each LANY track sounds. Every one unveils a new layer of dreampop that tastes sweeter and sweeter upon each listen.

Single ‘Someone Else’ does exactly that. It is an electronic love song that would make any notable boy band jealous.

They support Tove Styrke in May and Maudlin Strangers in June/July.

Sounds like: Crozet, Pistol Shrimp, Brotherun, Goldroom, Scavenger Hunt, Still Corners, Paperwhite, Pawws, Sykes, Washed Out, New Navy, X Priest X, Roosevelt, Great Good Fine Ok, Lostboycrow
