Esmé Patterson – Light In Your Window

Esme Patterson

Alt-folk singer, Esmé Patterson returns with her expansive and dream-filled ballad, ‘Light In Your Window’.

We’ve all been there, glancing up to a light in our ex’s house, longing and hoping that we might catch a glimpse of them. Patterson perfectly captures that moment – the desire for a person, a feeling, a space in time that no longer exists, and the desire to move on.

The song marks her first for BMG and was recorded with fellow Coloradans Tennis in their garage in Denver.

LIA shares ‘Feed Me’, taken from her ‘Vasilia’ EP, which was co-produced with Montreal’s Lust and Thomas White.

Inspired by Baba Yaga from a computer game, the tracks in the EP depict Lia’s journey of finding resilience in the mind, resilience as a woman and resilience in her relationships.

This is the first time we have supported Romanian music on the site, and it’s a corker from Zimbru.

Exciting Nashville producer and creator Super Duper has managed to do something unheard of – create a repetitive song that is quite simply addictive, and in no way annoying. Even Super Duper puts it on repeat, and you should too.

Sloan Peterson – 105

Sloan Peterson

Introducing Sloan Peterson (aka 24 year-old Joannah Jackson).

Based in Sydney, Sloan Peterson has grown up recording songs, filming music videos and playing vintage records with her sister and friends. Her music is a nod to the garage rock music of the 50’s.

The video for her single, ‘105’ is the first to be shot in the historic building of The Strand Arcade since scenes from David Bowie‘s music video for ‘Let’s Dance’ and features Sloan Peterson as well as a cast of alumni dancers from the Australian Ballet School and Sydney Dance Company.

This is her debut single taken from her upcoming debut self-titled EP, out on 14 July via Mirror Records.

First on the agenda is ‘Boyfriend’. It’s a brazen track, full of witty innuendoes and squeaky guitar riffs, but the message behind the lyrics of the track is clear – never underestimate a woman’s abilities.

Hackman’s second album ‘I’m Not Your Man’ will be released 2 June through AMF Records and Sub Pop.
