LOVE SICK – Predictable

LOVE SICK

We are quite frankly obsessed with LOVE SICK, especially their latest and greatest release, ‘Predictable’, which is anything but.

LOVE SICK is the dark and mysteriously infectious pop project of Glaswegian Shaun and Julie.

Taken from their four-track ‘No Sleep’ EP, ‘Predictable’ is 1/4 snapshot of where they are today, following endless sleepless nights writing the EP culminating in a sweet exhaustion of creativity.

The ‘No Sleep’ EP is out now via B3SCI Records/Aesop.

Our ones to watch for 2019.

We are all love sick to some degree.

Scottish girl/boy duo LOVE SICK share debut single ‘Bullet’, an ode to both heartbreak and obsession.

The couple met at a work Christmas party when Julie drunkenly let slip to Shaun (who also produced in his spare time) that she always wanted to be a singer. A few weeks later the duo coincidentally bumped into each other at a train station, and the rest is cosmic pop.

Another debut, this time from Perth-based artist and multi-instrumentalist, CAMARANO (aka Mat Cammarano).

Having previous been involved in performing with bands as well as producing and recording for other artists, Mat has decided to go it alone and release ‘Ashes’.

It’s a fuzzy masterpiece that would fit well in the lo-fi category, alongside the likes of Tame Impala, Big Scary or Bon Iver.

After a two year hiatus, St. Lucia (aka Jean-Philip Grobler) returns with a synth pop gem ‘Dancing on Glass’.

It has the usual catchy 80’s-inspired chorus that we would expect from St. Lucia, as well as an amusing video directed by Noah Paul.

‘Dancing on Glass’ is taken from the upcoming ‘Matter’ album.

Brooklyn-based synth-pop duo, Late Nite Cable, have just released their new single, ‘All Nite Girl’.

It’s a melodic track about meeting someone during a night out that you end up having a real connection with, but knowing that you’ll probably never see them again.

The song comes from the band’s upcoming debut EP, which has been co-produced by Anthony Gallo (Yeasayer, John Legend, Cat Power) and is due out next month.

After the success of the infectious and lauded ‘Heartracer‘, the Cosby boys are staying on trend and returning with 80’s synth tune ‘Overboard’.

The youthful track is short but sweet. Close your eyes and envisage listening to ‘Overboard’ in your dream sports car with the top down and wind in hair.

The track was released on  22 April and is taken from the ‘Summer Gold’ EP.

Time for some super dreamy 80’s inspired synth pop from up-and-coming Cosby.

Led by Richmond-based brothers Chris and Chip Cosby with Mike Levinson on drums/percussion, ‘Heartracer’ is the first single off their forthcoming record.

The boys describe the track as being about “that moment when we finally feel at ease with the realization that we are all, for better or worse, heading in the same direction on this big floating rock in space we call Earth.”

Having already opened for Future Islands and finished as a semi-finalist in last year’s International Songwriting Competition, Cosby is definitely one to watch!
