His baritone vocals offer a soulful elegance whilst remaining respectful to the darkness and delirium that often accompanies a period of sadness and loss.

Retro Kid – Neon Colours

Retro Kid

Retro Kid is a quirky artist from Denmark.

A sporadic beat echoes throughout his new single, ‘Neon Colours’, as images of a smokey bodega full of interesting characters in Copenhagen are conjured up through additions of nostalgic gaming electronics.

Danish dream pop duo Slowes have released their new single, ‘Tell Me Why’, a song about discovering a lying lover.

WhoMadeWho – Dynasty

WhoMadeWho

We love electronica being at the forefront of music, but we also love an amalgamation of genres. Cue WhoMadeWho, a Copenhagen-based trio comprised of Tomas Barfod, Jeppe Kjellberg and Tomas Høffding.

WhoMadeWho like to experiment sounds inbetween disco, funk, techno, indie rock and pop. They also like to tackle hot topics whilst they’re at it…including sex. It’s complicated, ever more so with dating apps like Tinder and Bumble, so why not listen to ‘Dynasty’, and turn that energy you spend on your phone into something good, like connecting with someone in real life? Good advice guys!

Sounds like: Hot Chip, Du Tonc

Vera – In And Out Of Love

Vera - In And Out Of Love

Copenhagen-based Vera might be a newcomer in the vocal world, but he has already earned a lot of respect as producer and co-writer for a crop of Norwegian breakout acts including Liss, Soleima, Goss and Off Bloom.

His latest track ‘In And Out Of Love’ is a sultry number, reminiscent of Sade, that anchors on the vocalist’s Banks-esq tone seesawing with the 90’s styled saxophone.

Sounds like: Banks

MATTIS – Loverboy

MATTIS

Copenhagen-based superstar in the making, MATTIS, shares his stunning debut, ‘Loverboy’.

This self confessed “viking soul” uses somewhat minimalistic production, relying heavily on his vocals (think James Blake or Sampha), but ‘Loverboy’ also tells an emotive story, driven from a dark place that MATTIS found himself in three years ago, having lost his apartment following a break up, and generally feeling like a lone wolf away from the pack.

The single is out via Sony Music in Scandinavia and Tigerspring/The Orchard elsewhere.

Sounds like: Rationale, Ben Pearce, James Blake, Sampha

KING – Blood

KING

KING

Denmark has a new pop star in the making, and she’s called KING.

Born in Copenhagen to a Cuban mother and a Chilean father, KING has had a bit of an unbringing, watching her uncle work as one of Fidel Castro’s personal bodyguards.

With her street smart dance style and accomplished vocals, we kindly ask Banks and Grimes to step aside for the KING.

Sounds like: CAPPA, Grimes, Banks, MØ

Bodebrixen – Change It Back

Bodebrixen

Bodebrixen

Danish indie pop outfit, Bodebrixen, are bringing Spanish guitar back, and it’s sounding pretty damn good.

Not only that, the new disco-tinged lo-fi single, ‘Change It Back’, also features strings and synths. Bodebrixen know how to spoil us, but we think the effort is worth it.

Sounds like: Cut Copy, Summer Heart, Day Wave, Clean Bandit, Roosevelt, Tough Alliance
