Maya Payne – If Only

Following hot on the footsteps of Lorde is 17 year old New Zealand singer songwriter Maya Payne, who has just released her bold second single ‘If Only’.

To record the track, Maya ventured out of the garage and into a studio for the first time, but you wouldn’t have guessed it was her debut studio recording experience with an electronic track as substantial as this.

Shura – Touch

Shura

Shura

Shura (aka Aleksandra Denton) was born in London to a Russian actress and an English documentary filmmaker.

Shura’s passion for music came via her brother, who would DJ drum-and-bass at the weekends, and installed an early love of electronic music in his sister.

As funky as Blood Orange‘s ‘You’re Not Good Enough’, the track has gone Top 5 on Hype Machine, and picked up over 100,000 plays in its first week on Soundcloud.

‘Touch’ is a break-up song which captures the sadness of not being with somebody anymore, but also the infinite tenderness of your time together.

The sensual debut video was directed by and starring Shura’s group of friends and features a cameo from Shura herself:

‘Touch’ is also on the Indietronica February playlist.

Sounds like: Blood Orange, Massive Attack
