Foals release new banger, ‘2001’. Bringing back the naughties inspired hi hats and Chic-worthy disco funk laden riffs, it’s safe to say that summer 2022 has arrived.
The Esteban-directed video depicts summer time antics, hot cruises, ice cream licking delights and beach chats. Watch below.
Expect their seventh album, ‘Life Is Yours’ on 17 June.
Sounds like: The Black Keys, Muse, The Maccabees, The Griswolds, Coasts, Sea Girls, Blossoms, Viola Beach, The Night Café, The Amazons, Klaxons
Following hot in the footsteps of disco collective, Jungle, is Essex based brother trio, Rayowa.
Dan, Reece and Luke often perform with a live band, showcasing their mutual love of soul, funk and disco. Their feel-good new single ‘The Only Night’ takes a look at cutting loose and escaping the mundanity of modern life.
So, what are you waiting for? Dust of your shoes and get dancing…
NYC-based Dady is comprised of singer/songwriter Rachel Dady and songwriter/producer Jesse O’Connor.
Born from enemies, these two have somehow put their differences apart and now create delicate dream pop for the masses. ‘Failing’ effortlessly switches between tender moments and an anthemic hook.
Sounds like: Carly Rae Jepsen, Paperwhite, Taylor Swift, Haim
With it’s deceiving upbeat melody, Born Stranger‘s new single ‘Last Night on Earth’ is surprisingly about the sad topic of suicide.
An ode to those who have left our planet too soon, this track urges you to celebrate, live in the moment and be compassionate with each other.

Dublin disco-noir trio Sleep Thieves shares new single ‘Sea of Shadows’.
With the song’s minimal lyrical attitude and looping darkly ethereal synths full of nostalgia that completely immerse your mind, it’s hard to believe the threesome met on Twitter.
Following on from the innovative video for TJH87‘s ‘Good Life‘ Feat. Gamble & Burke, is Youth Control‘s next release; ‘Apart In Love’ by Finnish producer Roisto.
An electronic creature by nature, Roisto hides away in the dark forests of northernmost Finland. Despite Roisto meaning ‘villain’ in Finnish, the only evil deed carried out by this producer is creating his own stylist brand of disco in his studio and taking inspiration from old analog synths, tape machines, and 12” disco records.
You wouldn’t be blamed for thinking Roisto hails from France. ‘Apart In Love’ is so nu-disco, it conjures up images of a younger Daft Punk dancing in the streets of Paris with Chromeo and Chic as backing dancers.
Barcelona-based indie-electro artist, That Girl With Dark Eyes (TGWDE) has released this funk-infused gem ‘Hey Baby’, which you can listen to below.
Also known as Tiffany Garrett Sotomayor, That Girl With Dark Eyes co-produced and recorded the track with artust Julian Saldarriaga (Love Of Lesbian). A newcomer on the electro-pop scene, but a fast-rising one, TGWDE has already opened for Skrillex, Phoenix, CSS and The New Pornographers and more.
‘Hey Baby’ is a nod to the current funky-disco revival pioneered in part by Chromeo and the return of Daft Punk, and quite frankly, we can’t wait to hear more!
Ronika has been a firm favourite of Indietronica’s for some time now.
We praised ‘Search Siren’, and now we are super excited about her new track, ‘Shell Shocked’; a dancey floor filler full of fab 80’s and summery vibes.
Whilst lining up some exciting new collaborations for 2014, Ronika has already worked with the likes of Mylo and Herve, and recruited an eclectic cast of co-producers for a handful of songs on her debut album, ‘Selectadisc’ including Mixmag’s best new DJ of the year, Citizen, Brooklyn duo Javelin, and local hip-hop pioneer Joe Buddha. Oh and we forgot to mention that Nile Rogers is fan.
Her debut album, ‘Selectadisc’ is out on 2 June 2014 and is available for pre-order now via RecordShop. The title of the album is an ode to ‘Selectadisc’, Nottingham’s iconic independent record-store, which closed its doors for the final time in 2009.
She really is the nicest girl in pop!
