yellowbirddd – Frogtown

yellowbirddd

yellowbirddd

Another talented musician from Berklee. This one goes by the name of yellowbirddd (aka Liam McCormack).

Emo singer, and Neil Young fan through and through, yellowbirddd combines angst with folk sounds.

‘Frogtown’ does just this, and we especially love the snippets of festive bells in the track.

McCormack is hoping to release an album called ‘You’re Already in Paradise’ with the help of an IndieGoGo campaign.

Midnight Mystery Club – Calling Me

Midnight Mystery Club

Midnight Mystery Club

Indietronica is an addictive genre. Other styles rarely get close to the type of highs that indietronica induces.

One band pushing forward such musical euphoria to the masses is Midnight Mystery Club (aka David Paul Newell).

Offering us light hearted synths, with addictive riffs and beaming melodies, it’s no wonder that Midnight Mystery Club has drawn comparisons to greats, such as Empire of The Sun and Peter Gabriel.

Deep Dark Blue – Been Here Once Before

Deep Dark Blue by Bryce Alber

Deep Dark Blue by Bryce Alber

Don’t be fooled into thinking Deep Dark Blue come from anywhere other than Los Angeles.

This Californian duo create hypnotic electronica, and although their new track ‘Been Here Once Before’ is not a trigger-happy, dance floor filler, it has a familiarity that will appease both those who enjoy a chilled Sunday afternoon in the park, as well as the nighttime clubbers amongst us.

Building around a percussive (and slightly tropical) backbeat and methodically adding lush sonic textures, ‘Been Here Once Before’ gently unfolds into a euphoric track with soothing bass lines and heavenly guitar interludes, making us question whether we really have been here once before.

Sounds like: Hot Chip, Goldroom, The 2 Bears, Caribou, Holy Ghost!, Tame Impala, Miike Snow, Simian Mobile Disco, M83
