Furniteur – Mysteries

Furniteur

Helping us get back to our synth roots is Washington-based Furniteur and her mesmerising new track, ‘Mysteries’.

The project is headed up by Brittany Sims, who has enlisted former Brett members Mike Toohey and Kevin Bayly.

Much like mystery itself, this track allures with its driving beat and dazzling keys.

It’s taken from Furniteur’s upcoming debut LP ‘Perfect Lavender’, out now via Prince George Records.

Few Bits – Summer Sun

Few Bits

Few Bits

Few Bits are a Belgium band, who are making waves in their home country and beyond, having already supported the likes of Vampire Weekend and The War On Drugs.

Imagine an untroubled Lana Del Rey, and you’d likely end up at the euphoric, hazy vocals of front woman Karolien Van Ransbeeck. Combine this with the shimmering guitars from the rest of the band, and the result is ‘Summer Sun’.

Watch the picturesque and colourful video for ‘Summer Sun’, below.

‘Summer Sun’ has been taken from their upcoming sophomore album ‘Big Sparks’.

Sounds like: Daywave, Summer Heart, Swimm, Lana Del Rey, Hazel English, Brett

Brett – Electric

Brett - Electric

Brett – Electric

Brett return with the release of ‘Electric’.

The track is more of an acoustic lo-fi track than electric, but Brett are taking an abstract route with their new material, of which is featured on their upcoming album, ‘Mode’.

Brett took influence for the album from Jean-Luc Godard’s recent film, ‘Goodbye to Language’. “The defining quote for me was: ‘For women, it’s only sex and death. For men, it’s only infinity and zeroes,’” says vocalist Mick Coogan. “It’s a fairly opaque statement, but I think the irony lies in assigning absolutes to human relationships, which can be so beautiful and inspiring. At the same time, the fundamental differences between men and women are very real and that shit is difficult to figure out.”

The vibrant album artwork was designed by Los Angeles based artist, Charley Alexander. The piece was then cut into 50 squares, each of which will be sold with limited edition pre-order copies of the vinyl record. “Our only direction was for the work to be vibrant and bursting with vitality. On the simple level of color, we wanted the jacket to express the brighter sounds and songs on our second album in relation to LP1. We feel Mode has an emotional warmth that the first album deliberately avoids. We also wanted to give our fans a chance to make a closer connection to the music.”

‘Mode’ is released on 18th March via Cascine.

Sounds like: Gypsy & The Cat, Postiljonen, Summer Heart, Day Wave

Night Panther – Delta

Night Panther

Night Panther

Describing themselves as sexpop, Night Panther are Farzad Houshiarnejad, Michael Cammarata and Chris Radwanski from Doylestown in the US.

We are still shocked that they only have 860 followers on Soundcloud.

Their new track ‘Delta’ is 6 minutes of inspirational psychedelic vibes that immediately take you to a better place full of velvet, long hair and synths. The track teases you with a roller coaster of timings as it draws you in and builds you up.

Night Panther have just released ‘Delta’ on 7″ via blogger-backed Small Plate Records. It is limited to 500 copies on gold vinyl.

Their self-entitled EP is out now on iTunes via Small Plate Records.

The band have also covered ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ on the ‘Beatles Reimagined (Bonus Version)’ album which has an anticipated release date of 1 October via Community Projects, and features other bands such as Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and electronic remix master Brett.

Damn! We just can’t stop playing their sexy tunes!
