US-based trio, Starwolf is riding against the online dating wave with new single, ‘Real Love’.
Co-produced and mixed by Jason Kingsland (Washed Out, Deerhunter, Band of Horses), the song is full of sweet funky riffs over glossy, dream-pop tinged vocals. What’s not to love?
Stockholm siblings The Endorphins shares ‘Parachute’.
A more soulful change in direction to their previous single, ‘Dead or Alive‘, the ’90s inspired R&B breaker was written about intensely falling head over heals for someone.
New York City-based Maude Latour‘s bubbly new single ‘Furniture’ is unapologetic as ever.
Written at the lowest point of a breakup, the song oozes bravery with an ounce of playfulness. This is her joyous breakup song, that she now shares with the world!
Local Crawley band TALU share their new single ‘Take You Home’.
Recording the drums in a warehouse and everything else in their living room and kitchen, the band captures the joy in everyday moments, offering a delightful slither of nostalgia that you’d desire from a modern day indie-pop band.
South London’s Alice MC shares her new single ‘My Love’, taken from her debut EP, ‘Storyteller’.
Despite her music fitting best within the jazz, soul and folk genres, Alice MC started by studying Opera at the Guildhall School. She soon realised her destiny was within the jazz worlds.
Helsinki born and bred Lake Jons reflects the darkest waters of the woods in delicate folktronica-tinged dream-pop.
In their sophomore album ‘The Coast’, Lake Jons continues to evolve both personally, and as a musical outlet. Reconnecting with their roots by leaving the city, they endeavour to dismantle life, space and time and gain emotional perspective.
We caught up with Jooel Jons and Mikko Pennanen to find out more…
1. Describe your sound in three words.
Tender, life-loving.
2. How did the name Lake Jons come about?
Well, it’s a twisted version of my name. Let’s leave it at that. :)))
3. Your new album ‘The Coast’ is inspired by nature. What is it about nature that attracts you the most?
Its purity and stillness. It’s crazy how I’m just calmed any time I’m in the forest. Even if the place isn’t untouched, natural areas still have the ability to give me the spiritual feeling of unity.
4. Any exciting plans for 2020?
Well, of course, new music will keep on pouring, but there will also be some tour plans for Europe, enjoying life, and hanging in the woods as much as possible.
5. We love listening to new music at Indietronica. What new music are you listening to?
Awesome. Lately I’ve been listening to Sharon Van Etten maybe more than others. It’s like a warm wave making the day seem a little more bright. Also, I got this old Spanish guitar album, compilation from different classical composers. That’s a perfect way to start a day.

Lake Jons releases their new single ‘I Don’t Care’, lifted from their forthcoming album, ‘The Coast’, released on 29 Nov via Playground Music.
Inspired their moniker’s birthplace in the Towards forest, the track focuses on “details soft thought before action” and how ruminating is not always the right thing to do. Sometimes it’s simply better to just go with the flow.
Listen here.

We’ll let you into a little secret. We have a huge crush on Yoke Lore.
Based in New York, the pure and heartfelt music created by multi-instrumentalist, dancer, and visual artist Adrian Galvin can effortlessly translate miles across oceans to reach us here in the UK, hitting our heartstrings harder and harder upon every listen.
There is nothing fake about this artist.
Sounds like: Band of Horses, Yellerkin, Yeasayer, Local Natives
Boston-based Nat Reed is an exciting new R&B artist.
Her ethereal sensuality works magic with the minimal electronic production used in her music, which creates an otherworldly experience for the listener.
San Francisco-based electro pop up-and-comer SUMif sets off 2018 alight with her new EP called ‘Pretty Cage’.
SUMif has already opened for indie and electro-pop darlings such as VÉRITÉ, Lauv, Ella Vos, Kučka, and Little Boots, and hopefully a headline slot will be hers very shortly.
We don’t hear very much Swiss indietronica, but namaka‘s new song ‘Cellophane’ proves we should be listening to more.
Their music is both feminine and masculine; production both analogical and digital, as the band tackle the conflict of man vs machine in the most delicate and rough ways possible.
Do not be deceived, ‘Strange But True’ by Western Scene is not a Christmas song, despite the countless bells and chimes in the song. Instead, it is a call for decent music.
Formed by front man Tom Pritchard in Los Angeles, Western Scene is an indie rock band through and through, spending years self-producing music that has been written and recorded in bedrooms and studios across the coast.
‘Strange but True’ is out now via Grand Jury Music.
French Horn Rebellion – Rooftops Feat. Natalie Duffy
Brooklyn brothers Robert and David Perlick-Molinari, aka French Horn Rebellion, ask us to meet them on the ‘Rooftops’ in their new single, which also features the delicate vocals of Natalie Duffy.
The boys maybe harnessing down the electro funk on this one, but it doesn’t mean ‘Rooftops’ lacks energy, quite the opposite. Take a listen below.
Their label YouTooCanWoo will be expanding its ‘Night Out’ series of collaborative performances including dates in New York and London. More info here.

Melbourne-based folktronica artist BATTS returns with her beautiful new single ‘Somedays’.
Using space as a reference (specifically the NASA recording of Saturn’s rings), ‘Somedays’ showcases BATTS’ knack of creating psych-tinged pop that is extremely grounding, but also feels otherworldly at the same time.
Expect her mesmerising and melancholic debut EP ’62 Moons’, to be released through the newly announced THAA Records.
Sounds like: London Grammar, Ficci, GEMS, MS MR, Daughter, James Blake, Jon Hopkins, MØ, SOHN, Broods, M83
Quirky songstress Jinka shares the ‘Shock Mounted’.
The surrealist video, directed by Ossian Melin (Yung Lean, Little Dragon), features Jinka reading Swedish porn magazines and microwaving sushi. As you do.
Following on from the brilliant ‘Colors‘, Finnish trio Lake Jons release ‘Call Me’.
Once again ethereal vocals clash and blend with tinny drums. We can’t help but think severe isolation in the woods is the way forward – it really does produce inspirational music!
Expect their forthcoming self-titled debut album to come out on 19 January through AntiFragile Music.
Sounds like: Midlake, Band Of Horses, Paul Simon, Ásgeir, Bon Iver, Nick Mulvey
Wow, ‘You’ is some serious spine tingling stuff from Dream Estate, an exciting ambient pop outfit on the scene.
The band was originally founded by William Tse in 2015, but later was joined by Dan Hvorostovsky (bass, backing vocals), Dan Noble (lead guitar, backings vocals), and Joe Dawson (drums) in 2017. Since then, the band have been working alongside producer Sam Winfield (Fickle Friends, Pixel Fix, Amber Run, Motherhood).
We are blown away by Finnish trio Lake Jons‘s new song ‘Colors’.
Much like their other releases, ‘Colors’ effortlessly combines delicate guitar progressions (with some banjo thrown in there for good measure) with vintage rock beats and soulful vocals. Who would have thought that could work?!
‘Colors’ is the lead single from Lake Jon’s self-titled debut album, out on 19 January via AntiFragile Music, which was recorded in an isolated cabin in the woods – also a running theme throughout the album.
Sounds like: Paul Simon, Ásgeir, Band Of Horses, Bon Iver, Nick Mulvey
Yoke Lore collects stories and sounds from the world around him, so it’s no wonder his music has an expansive nature to it.
His latest release is called ‘World Wings’, which Yoke says “is about starting to whip the wings you have to shake things up around you. If you sit still, you’ll be left behind; get up and don’t let anyone tell you to sit down. When things are hopeless, just keep moving.”
The track has Yoke Lore’s prominent off-balanced harmonies, intriguing lyrics, and a steady drum beat throughout. Another great release from an exciting artist.
He’ll be playing SXSW this week.
Sounds like: Band of Horses, Yellerkin, Yeasayer, Local Natives
