Bad Sounds – Wages

Bad Sounds by Charlotte Patmore

Bad Sounds by Charlotte Patmore

Keeping us in fits of giggles, Bath based band, Bad Sounds are back with ‘Wages’.

Bad Sounds say of the track,

“‘Wages’ is our working in retail ballad, it comes from us getting stuck in situations that we don’t want to be stuck in. It’s just a bit of a sulk and some trumpets…”

We’ve watched these guys live, and the fun-fuelled video for ‘Wages’ fully encompasses the Bad Sounds vibe.

Live Dates

Wed 30th Nov – Exchange, Bristol

Black Pulp – Vapour

Black Pulp - Vapour

Black Pulp – Vapour

There is very little we know about Liverpool-based band, Black Pulp, apart from the fact they create illuminating indie pop that reminds us of a “rough around the edges” Foals, or a nodding Bombay Bicycle Club.

Their second ever release, ‘Vapour’, gives us a lesson about the effect girls have on boys.

Bad Sounds – Avalanche

Bad Sounds

Bad Sounds

We declared Bad Sounds our new favourite band after watching them perform at The Alternative Escape in Brighton last month.

Producing some real badass sounds, the Bath five-piece fuse cheerful pop hooks, fuzzy guitar lines, and addictive choruses, bringing sounds of the 70’s and 80’s into the 90’s Brit-Pop era with a modern twist.

‘Avalanche’ has been co-produced by Duncan Mills (Peace, Spectator).

Harriet – Bring Me When You Go

Harriet by David Kitz

Harriet by David Kitz

Feasting on a rich blend of all things Americana, Harriet have unveiled another album track gem called ‘Bring Me When You Go’.

The forthcoming album, ‘American Appetite’, is produced by Sean O’Brien (The National, Jeff Bridges) and (Nickel Creek, The Replacements), and seeks inspiration from the American condition; the controversy, alienation and fear that it ensues.

Pre-order ‘American Appetite’ on iTunes. It will be released worldwide on 29 January on Harvest Records.

Sounds like: Bad Sounds, MRCH, Local Natives, The National, TW Walsh, Still Corners
