Kyson – The Boy

Kyson

Kyson asks “Am I still the boy?’ in his contemplative single, taken from his self-titled third album, out on 17 January via B3SCI Records.

Young & Sick – Bitter End

Young & Sick

Young & Sick is the project by musician and visual artist Nick van Hofwegen.

After a stroke of luck following a move from his home country of Holland to London, Nick was commissioned to put together artwork for artists such as Foster the People, Maroon 5 and Mikky Ekko.

If that wasn’t enough to contend with, this creative genius has taken his pen music and the result is funkily brilliant. His new single ‘Bitter End’ “is a celebration of seeing things through completely. It’s looking back at a pretty wild year of countless obstacles and turbulent skies. Through the eyes of an unstoppable maniac”.

You can purchase Young & Sick’s ‘Ojai’ EP on limited edition 7″ vinyl here, out now via Neon Gold Records / B3SCI Records.

LOVE SICK is the dark and mysteriously infectious pop project of Glaswegian Shaun and Julie.

Taken from their four-track ‘No Sleep’ EP, ‘Predictable’ is 1/4 snapshot of where they are today, following endless sleepless nights writing the EP culminating in a sweet exhaustion of creativity.

The ‘No Sleep’ EP is out now via B3SCI Records/Aesop.

Our ones to watch for 2019.

MIYNT

MIYNT

MIYNT is a Stockholm-based artist and musician. Having listened to a couple of her previous tracks, we decided to get the girl to put together a playlist for us.

You can check it out below.

Leon Bridges – Coming Home
I was blown away by this song, it has a timeless feel to it.

Touchy Mob – Crooked Lust
I love the lo-fi feel and the melancholia in this song. It’s brilliant.

Alabama Shakes – I Found You
Brittany Howard must be one of the greatest singers alive. I love this song.

Mild High Club – Windowpane
Man, I almost wanna steel that synth in the beginning, or in the whole song. It’s an amazing song.

Gorillaz – On Melancholy Hill
I think that all of my favorite songs includes the chord bm. This one included. It just catches some sort of melancholia. Damon Albarn 4-ever.

Fever Ray – I’m Not Done
I think that this is one of the best electronic songs of this decade.

Buscabulla – Sono
This makes me wanna dance

Valerie June – Wanna Be On Your Mind
This song falls in the same category as the Leon Bridges-track. It just feels timeless. So chill and beautiful.

PJ Harvey – Let England Shake
Because I’m secretly in love with PJ Harvey.

Angel Olsen – Shut Up And Kiss Me.
I just discovered Angel Olsen and I think she is awesome.

Skott – Wolf

Skott

Skott

Skott is an down-to-earth creature, who takes musical inspiration from the remote small town forest commune run by ‘outcast’ folk musicians, in which she grew up.

Although this small and supportive community exposed her to some music, it wasn’t until she visited the city for the first time in her mid teens that she experienced the sounds of contemporary music.

Her second single, ‘Wolf’, is a folk-inspired number about feeling of empowerment from never hiding away from your true instincts.

Aug 13 // Sweden @ Way Out West
Sept 28 // London @ Notting Hill Arts Club ‘New Shapes’
Sept 29 // London @ Birthdays
Oct 26 // Paris @ Pitchfork Music Festival

‘Wolf’ out now via B3SCI Records in the US and Chess Club Records in the UK.
