Alice Olivia – Wings Like Yours

Alice Olivia

Alice Olivia

Acoustic cover guru, Alice Olivia, changes directly and releases new icy, R&B track, ‘Wings Like Yours’.

The song is about love, possession and jealousy.

Olivia has worked with emerging UK producer Lipso, to produce overall quite a minimalist track which is further enhanced by her weightless vocals, all of which have been added to some snappy and gothic percussion.

It is the second release from EP, ‘Wanderlands’.

Sounds like: Jessie Ware, B. Miles, Lyves, Sasha Keable, Monogem, July Child, NÜME

Premiere: Myami – I Oh I

MYAMI

MYAMI

Melbourne-based songstress MYAMI returns with another cracker, ‘I Oh I’.

Like with ‘Soldier‘, this track has been produced by Wayfarer//.

MYAMI still cites influences from old school soul singers with ‘I Oh I’ and this can be see from the trap style drums sneaking in at times, but essentially ‘I Oh I’ is a slightly more modern and edgier take on the traditional R&B.

MYAMI says about the track,

“The confusion of growing up as a competitive teenager and trying to figure out who you are amongst the jungle of voices telling you who to be. The song is a flash back to look at the person I was, growing up in the often toxic surroundings of a teenage girls life”.

Transviolet – Girls Your Age

Transviolet

Transviolet

Los Angeles quartet Transviolet have just revealed their debut track, ‘Girls Your Age’.

Distinctive vocals sat atop imaginative production, the track unfurls from the outset to create a stunning opening gambit.

Speaking on the track, the band state:

“It’s complicated- coming into your own. Especially for girls. The world wants you to fit a role- be smart OR be sexy OR be modest- they want you to fit into some tidy, little, one-size-fits-all box. The truth is, you are human, and you aren’t meant to be just one thing. You can be innocent, sexy, elegant, dirty, beautiful, and flawed all in the same instance, and you don’t have to let anyone flatten you out into some one dimensional caricature of yourself. Fuck that. You are multidimensional, and you are capable of being everything at once.”

Sounds like: Lorde, Chelsea Lankes, Dominique, Lana Del Rey, B.Miles, Zola Blood
