Marble Empire – OMEGA

Marble Empire

UK artist Marble Empire (aka Matt Berry) has been making music since 13. You’d therefore expect his new single ‘OMEGA’ to be relatively complex, despite Marble Empire being reasonably new to the music scene, and you wouldn’t be wrong.

The song – written about progressing from adolescence into adulthood and the future of young people – was actually written two years ago, but despite the nostalgia, it is evermore relevant today than ever.

Omega by Marble Empire on VEVO.

Running around in circles, trapped in a “mirrored hall of horrors”, the song is highly dramatic, yet magnificent in both its vocal and production techniques.

‘Hall Of Horrors’ is the first single release from their upcoming album, out in October.

Mt Belle.

The sad tone continues in this SubmitHub feature with Belle Mt.‘s new single ‘Hollow’.

Belle Mt. (pronounced ‘Belle Mont’) will definitely tug at your heartstrings with this one – sky-high vocals and scene-setting strings.

Belle Mt. explain, “There’s the impression of a fork in the road for this woman and ultimately she takes the tragic path, as she can’t accept the intimacy or love that this man is committed to giving. Hollow is as much about her loneliness as his eventual emptiness…”

Labrose – Disguise

Labrose

“When your lips are too thick to speak, sing”. What a great motto to live by. Meet the writers behind this line, Labrose – a UK/US producer/singer/songwriter duo who create delicate electronica.

Ironically, their new single ‘Disguise’ is left wide open with a stripped back approach, giving perspective to the complicated nature of both love’s beauty and its toxicity. Pure bliss.

LOVE SICK

We are all love sick to some degree.

Scottish girl/boy duo LOVE SICK share debut single ‘Bullet’, an ode to both heartbreak and obsession.

The couple met at a work Christmas party when Julie drunkenly let slip to Shaun (who also produced in his spare time) that she always wanted to be a singer. A few weeks later the duo coincidentally bumped into each other at a train station, and the rest is cosmic pop.

VÉRITÉ – Phase Me Out

VÉRITÉ

VÉRITÉ

US based VÉRITÉ oozes sophistication and talent.

Her first release of 2017 is ‘Phase Me Out’, something that we certainly won’t be doing to VÉRITÉ anytime soon.

VÉRITÉ explains about the track,

“The song is about all of the invisible lines I draw in my interactions with others. I wrote ‘Phase Me Out’ on a blind date writing session in London. It was a trip I had taken around a small UK tour, where I decided to completely overbook myself. I had the phrase ‘stand up straighter with my back against the wall’ written in my notes on my phone before the session. I remember feeling exhausted and isolated and confined. I wanted to make a shift into a sound I felt was less trendy and more timeless–a mix of organic and electronic, distorted and pristine, driving and melodic.”

Her debut album is expected later this year.

Sounds like: Banks, La Roux, Noosa, Evvy, Ellie Goulding, ASTR, MS MR

Bloom Twins – Amnesia

Bloom Twins

Bloom Twins

What’s better than one brilliant artist? Two, of course! And these two are identical.

Meet Bloom Twins; 19 year olds, Anna & Sonia Kuprienko. Originally from the Ukraine, the duo moved to London a few years ago to escape the political situation at home, and are both now signed to Select Model Management.
