Exclusive: Lovespeake Playlist

Lovespeake by Olav Stubberud

Lovespeake by Olav Stubberud

We are proud to have one of Norway’s hottest exports right now, prepare a lovely playlist for all our Indietronica readers.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present Lovespeake‘s springtime playlist below:

Tycho – Montana
One of my favourite tracks to listen to while on the road touring, looking out the window and just losing myself to the soundscapes. I love everything Scott does.

Anderson Paak – Am I Wrong
This guy is such a talent. The whole album “Malibu” is a rare breed of excellence – the lyrics, production and the musicality of it all is just stunning. It doesn’t hurt having Schoolboy Q and Pomo on this banger either! Such a groover.

Housse de Racket – Roman
I remember listening to this song loads when we toured Germany back in 2012. It reminds me of sweaty nights in smoke-filled indie-bars in Hamburg and Berlin, being stuck in a mass of people going nuts to the music! The Germans can party…

Mutemath – Vitals
I was such a huge fan of Mutemath’s first record back in high school. It was one of those “holy shit” moments when I really got interested in production and layers of details that unraveled after each listen. Their songs are always so crisp, tight & punchy. They also have some great instrumentals, like “Vitals” here.

Alpine – Foolish
I got hooked on Alpine after their hit “Gasoline” a few years back. Their album “Yuck” from last year was very tasty. Such slick and clever pop tunes.

Lovespeake’s latest release ‘Tightrope’ is out today, and has been taken from the upcoming album called ‘DNA’, which is out 22nd April via Toothfairy.

Sounds like: Harts, Tame Impala, The Levity, Arcade Fire, Goldfrapp, MGMT, CHAPPO, The Flaming Lips, Carl Louis, Karl Kling

Goldroom – Embrace

Goldroom

Goldroom

Goldroom (aka LA Producer Josh Legg) is known for fun synths and incredible remixes, including Charli XCX, Niki & The Dove, Say Lou Lou, ALPINE and Chela to name but a few. Making the transition from laptop DJ, the Goldroom line up now includes Mereki Beach (vocals) and Nick Sandler (drums). ‘Embrace’ is the first track on the new EP, entitled ‘It’s Like You Never Went Away’. The track was co-written with London-based singer George Maple and also features her vocals. ‘Embrace’ is the perfect tune to see out the summer with. Like what you hear? Check out Goldroom on Snapchat to watch the video! The new album combines both former and fresh and is out on iTunes now. Go Wolf – Friction

Go Wolf

Go Wolf

Meet indie synth group, Go Wolf.

Go Wolf unintentionally formed at a Belfast poetry night and with two tracks under their belt, they are releasing their latest single, ‘Friction’.

It’s a catchy and upbeat indie track about the tribulations of love.

Listen below:

‘Friction’ is due out on the 10 March via Ooh La La Records. It is the first track taken from Go Wolf’s forthcoming EP under the name ‘Running’, that will feature four brand new tracks.

Pegase – Out of Range

Pegase

Pegase

Pegase is the solo project of former Minitel Rose frontman Raphael d’Hervez.

In Greek mythology, Pegase (or Pegasus in English) is the immortal winged horse and a symbol of highflying imagination, the new millennium and new consciousness.

This Pegase has electronic wings, and the highly imaginative French electro master has gone and released another killer track; ‘Out of Range’.

The video for ‘Out of Range’ follows Pegase and a young lady (perhaps Athena?) running away from some men in white coats. It is all very spooky and has similarities to the fight scene in Jared Hess’s ‘Gentlemen Broncos’.

Pegase also crops up a lot in the video, which is probably a hint regarding the upcoming debut album that is out in January 2014 via Raphael’s label, FVTVR Records.

Here are some more tracks from FVTVR Records for your delight:

Alpine – Gasoline

Alpine

Alpine

Australian ALPINE have been on our radar for quite some time now. ALPINE is Phoebe Baker and Lou James (dual vocals), Christian O’Brien (guitar), Ryan Lamb (bass), Tim Royall (keys) and Phil Tucker (drums).

Since forming, Alpine have toured extensively with the likes of Grouplove, KimbraThe Naked And Famous, Matt Corby, Sparkadia, Cloud Control and The Jezabels, as well as recently performing at SXSW 2013.

They are set to support Empire of the Sun on a US tour this fall and have just announced that they will also be supporting the Foals on their Australian tour.

Their debut album, ‘A Is For Alpine’, released on Ivy League Records, is available on iTunes. The album was chosen as iTunes’ Australian Alternative Album of the Year 2012, and has received critical praise from both Rolling Stone and USA Today.

The album was recorded in Melbourne with producer Dann Hume who helped the band experiment with different sounds and textures. The album ranges from songs that rejoice their Scandinavian, melancholic sound to those that toy with more dancey, disco synths.

See below for the pastel pasted video for ‘Gasoline’. There is an official video on Youtube, but we much prefer this one.

Sounds like; Lykke Li, Phoenix, Foals
