We didn’t think the foursome could have topped any of their previous videos, but once again, they have surprised us.

This time, the video for ‘Upside Down & Inside Out’ was filmed at zero gravity in a S7 Airlines plane. Brilliant!

RAEKO – Everybody Knows

We are huge fans of Sir Sly, so when we heard that producer Jason Suwito has a project called RAEKO, we jumped straight onto Soundcloud to listen to his new single called ‘Everybody Knows’, featuring Mating Ritual.

Recorded in his studio ‘Noise Coalition’ in Orange County with Mating Ritual, the process of producing the track was relatively straightforward. That’s not to say it’s not a complex track; ‘Everybody Knows’ is full of delicately layered synths offering a deceivingly simplistic groovy sound.

XPLOR – BYLB

Embed somewhere between The 1975 and M83 is XPLOR; a recent collaboration between Brian Carmona and Vince DiCarlo.

The Nashville-based buddies met through their church in Nashville and follow a vision of creating fun pop songs with memorable hooks/melodies.

On June 3, XPLOR released a creative story called ‘Bring Your Love Back’ which features three songs that support the single ‘BYLB’.

Roisto – Apart In Love

Following on from the innovative video for TJH87‘s ‘Good Life‘ Feat. Gamble & Burke, is Youth Control‘s next release; ‘Apart In Love’ by Finnish producer Roisto.

An electronic creature by nature, Roisto hides away in the dark forests of northernmost Finland. Despite Roisto meaning ‘villain’ in Finnish, the only evil deed carried out by this producer is creating his own stylist brand of disco in his studio and taking inspiration from old analog synths, tape machines, and 12” disco records.

You wouldn’t be blamed for thinking Roisto hails from France. ‘Apart In Love’ is so nu-disco, it conjures up images of a younger Daft Punk dancing in the streets of Paris with Chromeo and Chic as backing dancers.

OK Go is back and this time with a mesmerising video for nu-disco track ‘I Won’t Let You Down’.

It’s hard not to be distracted from the song with a video as impressive as this. The video is directed by Japanese Morihiro Harano and choreographed by Airman, and was filmed using a special drone at half speed.

TJH87 is a Finnish electronic music duo consisting of Timo Juuti and Hector 87. The duo has teamed up with Los Angeles Gamble & Burke for feel good nu-disco track ‘Good Life’.

The awesome video follows a character scrolling through records trying to find ‘Good Life’. The record titles also list out the ‘Good Life’ lyrics. Clever.

8th Grader – Sex Tongue

Wow, is it getting hot in here with the video for ‘Sex Tongue’ by 8th Grader (aka Jay Martinovich). But hold your horses a minute, as the video is purely tongue and cheek as 8th Grader explains below:

“This song/video is a narrative as well as a critique on idealized sexuality in the media. I wanted to show a juxtaposition of clichéd sexual norms alongside queer culture in San Francisco and America. I also just wanted to write a fun song to dance to in the style of Prince and the Tom Tom Club.”
